I am just going to do what the writers of this movie did and use someone else’s work,so here is the movie synopsis from Rotten Tomatoes.
“All seems well for Eric Bowen (Sam Rockwell), wife Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt), and their three children as they move into their new house in the suburbs of Illinois. Soon, the youngest daughter Maddy (Kennedi Clements) begins talking to an imaginary friend, or so the family thinks. Ok so now that I’ve saved myself some time just like the writers did let me put this out there, this isn’t a bad movie exactly. They just created a reboot and then just made in many ways a shot-for-shot remake. Yes, they changed a few things, for example, the ending. However when you don’t change much of the original movie why change what many consider the best part?
I’m not here to shit on the movie like most people have over the years, however. The acting was great, and the story itself still holds up very well. My girlfriend having never seen the original loved it. The movie is good, it is just a bad remake.
