Why I love Covering Indie Games

Recently a friend of mine asked why I always seemed to enjoy covering indie games so much. I have spent a lot of time on games like Empire In Ruins, Revisited. or Razerewire:Nanowars. I am looking forward to a great game called Volcanoids (PC Preview) and even look forward to a movie Preacher Six Preview.  Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE big AAA games, I am not saying indie games are better by any means. Simply I enjoy working with them. I have worked with Kalypso and NIS America with Railway Empire PS4 Pro Vs Xbox One X and Disgaea 1 Complete (PS4) and they were amazing and professional. It is an entirely different experience however on the indie level.

See when you are working with smaller devs you are talking right with the guys making the game. Empire In Ruins and Razerwire are from the same people, in fact, the man making Empire In Ruins made Razerwire because he wanted the experience and feeling of releasing a game, and I know this because in the time we spent talking he told me this personally. I was one of the first to play Empires In War because I live in America and couldn’t make the event to play it in Europe and he even congratulated me in their discord for obtaining the high score in Razerwire.

Volcanoids is another game a friend introduced to me, I ended up in their discord and the guys making the game are great, they answered several questions are constantly joking around and looking for feedback and even gave my friend an alpha key personally so he could stream the game. This is the type of thing bigger companies simply can’t reasonably do because they deal with thousands of people. Don’t get me wrong, I have never had a bad experience with a bigger company. Bethesda and SquareEnix have taken time to send an email when I didn’t get codes or to answer questions.

To put it in simple terms tho, indie devs are just more fun because you get to talk to the people making the games and that simply can’t be beaten. Best wishes, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
