Tower Tactics 2 Steam Review

Tower Tactics 2 by Assemble Entertainment is a new card deck-building tower defense game that they sent my way, which I am grateful for. Now, at $15, the game may not look like much, and they make a bold claim of having over 100 hours of content. Personally, I have around 10, and I have to say, it certainly seems possible.

The game has a pretty simple concept. Each character has their own deck, and all 5 play differently. You can further fine-tune them with trickets that do things like make poison or burns last longer, give you regeneration, or make towers that would normally disappear after one turn ( these are normally free towers, something else spawned) last longer. This may seem small, but it can also change how you play a deck completely.

Another important thing to mention is that there are multiple play modes, from a campaign to a survival mode and even a little Crystal Mine mode that just gathers crystals you can use to trade in for more precious materials. The real question remains: how does it play, and is the content worth exploring? Honestly, that will come down to you. I spent about 10 hours in the game, and that took work, and I mean to keep it down to 10 hours. The game very much has a one-more-round feel to it, as I always wanted to try to find a better way to arrange my towers.

My biggest complaint is that many of the stats and menus offer no explanation as to why they exist. The axe and the same axe with the half crescents next to them mean something, but I am not really sure what. I think attack and attack speed, but the game doesn’t do a good job of explaining that. It also isn’t great at explaining that USUALLY 3 of the same tower will combine into one and level up. I say usually because some towers have special level-up circumstances, and this is usually on the card.

Be that as it may, for a $15 game with a massive amount of content, the game is worth buying. It is a 9/10 title you should not miss. Best wishes, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
