Now for those that are not a PC gamer or simply don’t keep up on news, recently Take-Two has decided to put an end to what is basically a mod that allows for modding of the grand theft auto game, you can learn more here.
I have pretty mixed feelings about this personally even tho it doesn’t have anything to do with me as a console gamer. On one hand i feel like its their property, if they do not want you messing with it that is on them and it’s their right as the owner. Then I start to finish the thought, while all of that is true they did for years allow the modding community to flourish. To suddenly decide they no longer wanted to allow that they have effectively slapped an entire section of their fan base across the face. I don’t know what goes into making a mod, but i imagine it no different from making a video game on any RPG maker or even writing a blog, both of which can take hundreds of hour. That is no small amount of time or dedication, and while games like Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption will sell regardless but I have to wonder if they aren’t playing a very dangerous games with their PC sales.
