The Nun teaser

So we horror fans got the first trailer for The Nun, the next chapter in the Conjuring universe. I loved The Conjuring (2013) but had mixed feelings when it came to The Conjuring 2 so I was a bit miffed when I heard the Nun was getting there own spin off. After the trailer, I’m actually pumped for it. It’s filmed beautifully with a great atmosphere and a nice scare at the end. Getting to see this after the Halloween 2018 first trailer I hope we get to see the signs of a new resurgence in horror in the near future. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

He’s back! I know this isn’t my usual time to post, but considering the occasion I think it can be forgiven. As a babe in diapers, two icons have haunted my nightmares for 27 years, making me want to spread the fear someday with my own stories of horror. Michael Myers, the shape, is tied for my favorite horror character next to the Alien. After the soul crushing defeat after watching Rob Zombie’s remakes and after a string of aimless sequels leading to a busted continuity, we get a movie that rewrites history, erasing all but the very original. Normal, these kind of deals don’t sit right with me but I love the look and vibe I got from the trailer. For the first time in a long time, I felt a buzz of terror seeing Michael lurking the streets of Haddonfield once again to the classic Carpenter score. Laurie, reprised by Jamie Lee Curtis , seems badass if not traumatized which isn’t far from H20 but seems more maddened which is a cool twist. Michael looks haggard but appropriately so, unlike Zombie’s. I am excited as hell, like fanboy nerdgasm right now and I’m pumped. Suspiria 2018 trailer 1

Suspiria was one of the most artistic, beautiful, and creative horror movies I’ve ever seen and at first when I heard it was getting a remake, I rolled my eyes. Though I did a list of 5 horror remakes I loved , I generally don’t, hence the post I did after, 5 remakes that went and pissed me off . I’m glad to see Suspiria doesn’t look like a copy/ paste remake like the Omen, but at the same time I didn’t believe it was Suspiria until the title popped up. The trailer is well done though, intriguing and unsettling and I can’t wait to see it. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Christopher Robin Trailer

Many beamed with excitement and felt the warmth of childhood nostalgia when the first trailer debuted. Winnie the Pooh and his friends are childhood icons and now we get to see them in live action…and they scare the shit out of me. Screw chainsaw wielding maniacs, acid blooded creatures from space, or a Darth Maul demon from a parallel dimension, Pooh scares the hell out of me in live action. Not to say the effects aren’t great, they are, but real Pooh just scares the hell out me with and his beady little eyes want to eat my soul. Still, that being said, it looks like it could be a good hearted adventure for the whole family- I’m just keeping away from Pooh so he doesn’t think my innards are full of honey. May the gaming gods bring you glory, and yes Savior, I will know you’re the one who planted that Pooh bear in my house.

So we finally get a live action adaptation of the classic novel the Jungle- hey, wait a second, didn’t we get one of these a couple years ago? Regardless, we’re getting what seems to be a darker adaptation with different actors. I’m a huge fan of the actors for both film but so far I like the vibe the new one brings, especially with Christian Bale, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Cate Blanchett lending there voices. I like that Mowgli looks a bit more feral with this movie which looks cool. I’m interested in the concept and I do want to see more. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

I don’t know how I didn’t hear about this considering all the star power this movie looks to have, and I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing yet. The premise made me do a double take at first, but after a seeing a trailer like The Happytime Murders trailer 1 I can’t really say anything is going to shock me today. The trailer looks genuinely funny and I do like the actors involved so I’d be curious where it goes, but what do you think?

After a small reprieve after being attacked by hordes of bird men and saving the eight dimension, I’m back to writing for the Savior once again and wow, did I come back on a good day. Savior brought a new comedy to my attention- namely The HappyTime Murders knowing my affliction of WTF movies and such. What was I expecting? I’m going to be brutally honestly, I was thinking maybe it was going to be Rob Zombie style horror, exploitation movie. Nope…it’s just, well, you’ll see. Suddenly my hype jumped to 10 and I can’t wait to see more. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

mrs voorhees 1. Pamela Voorhees (Friday the 13th)

She worked her bum off to give her sweet baby boy Jason a decent life but those damn fornicating teenagers let him drown. So like any good mother, rather than seeking therapy or perhaps trying to avoid this situation, she decided to rid Crystal Lake of those damn fornicating teenagers. Thanks Mrs. V

“A boy’s best friend is his mother,” her son once said because it’s true, well, at least to Norman anyway. Norman loved her so much, he never let her go, but did everything he could to make her proud. Thanks Mrs. Bates

It’s hard trying to bring kids up with good spiritual values and that’s all she tried giving her daughter Carrie. She warned her about those sinning bastards at her school, and gave her life to stop her enraged daughter from hurting all those innocent folks in town. Thanks Mrs. White.

queen 4. Queen Alien (Aliens)

Moms are strong, beautiful, intelligent, and organized and the Queen herself is the greatest in the galaxy, receiving thousands of gifts from the hordes of her children as she gives us all the gift of yummy eggs. Thanks your highness.

The Predator, trailer 1

So after a long ass wait, we finally get a peak at the fourth in the Predator series. As well as being a huge Alien fan ( to an unhealthy degree people have said in the past), I do love me some Predator. On the whole, I loved the trilogy and I was excited to get a new movie after eight years.

I’ve got some weird comments, so just be aware. First, I hate when franchises add “The” as part of the title when its just part of the series; years and years ago I remember hearing the Alien prequel would be called “The Alien” and I remember groaning out loud in front of like 30 people. But, I digress.

I do like the suburban setting, which I find refreshing for the series on its own. Even including those abominable AVP movies, the settings were also diverse and the I always wanted to see more Predator, solo, in them; I’d love a Predator movie in the frozen tundra honestly. The Predator looks badass as ever and I’m glad they seem to be back to the more original designs than the more…shall we say different designs of the Predators in the previous film.

In the end, I have a bit of faith in this fourth movie and I hope for the best. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

My 5 favorite movies in the MCU

I’ve been asked 1,000 times, what do I like better: Marvel or DC? I can’t pick. I love both of them for similar and different reasons. But when it comes to movies, the MCU regions supreme. Here’s 5 of my personal favorites. In no particular order let’s begin with…

1. Doctor Strange- ever since I read Dr Strange & Dr Doom: Triumph and Torment I’ve grown to love the beautiful and weird exploits of the the sorcerer supreme and I was ecstatic to hear Benedict Cumberbatch was playing him; as a Strange fan, I was really pleased and it’s mind blowing as hell in IMAX 3D.

gotg v2 2. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2- This was a really tough pick between the first and second but the second has a deeper story and a much better villain in Ego…also Baby Groot is freakin adorable, he seriously maybe the cutest damn thing I’ve ever seen.

3. Avengers – you can’t beat the once and probably future king of superhero flicks. While Iron Man is also a phenomenal movie, as well as the underated Incredible Hulk but watching Hulk slam Loki around like a rag-doll- truly epic.

Spider-man: Homecoming – Spider-man maybe the coolest, most versatile superhero out there but at the end, he’s a regular kid and Homecoming gave us that: he’s Spider-man at Homecoming. Nothing fancy, no overblown world building, and Holland’s portrayal is spot on. Plus, growing up with Batman it was great to have Michael Keaton back in a super role, and as Vulture nonetheless, one of my favorite Spidey bad guys was a huge treat.

avengers 3 5. Avengers: Infinity War – I laughed, I almost cried, and I couldn’t help thinking about the movie on a whole hours, even days after seeing it. As a nerd I freaked out in joy and I give credit, it may be my favorite of the Avengers trilogy…
