For those that want to see the movie at home, or for with kids that are going to destroy this movie for you and make you watch it a million times, you can get the digital version of Detective Pikachu on July 23rd, with the physical release being just a couple weeks later on August 6th. Endgame Re-release Needs Less Than $39 Million to Beat Avatar
With each passing day Endgame makes less and less money and the dream of beating Avatar slips further and further away, sort of. On June 28th a new version of Avengers Endgame will release with extra footage in hopes of making that extra money to topple the giant that is Avatar, the leading movie in film history when it comes to making bank.
Kevin Feige was pretty clear to say tho, this is NOT an extended cut. If you stick around after the movie there will be a deleted scene, some surprises and a small tribute. Tom Hardy Confirmed for Venom 2
To the surprise of nobody, despite the negative reviews Venom is getting a sequel after a massive $855 million box office run, which actually makes it the most successful super hero origin story of all time at that time.It could be debated that Aquaman took that title, but that depends if on how you view that movie and personally I would count that as the king of origin movies.
With the confirmation of that sequel tho, is that it is now also confirmed Tom Hardy will be back as Venom. Even more surprising tho is Venom screenwriter said back in December that a Venom Spider-man movie wasn’t “impossible” and Kevin Feige recently states that it would probably be up to Sony to bring the characters together. Halloween 2 To Start Filming in 2019
Blumhouse’s Halloween 2 was always going to be a thing after the success of last years release on the 40th anniversary of the franchise had so much success. Well, we now know it will be filming this fall to release in 2020 most likely to nobodies surprise, in October.
Last years movie had about a 10 million dollar budget and made around 255 million dollars on only a 10 million dollar budget. That is one hell of a profit margin, so a new movie is pretty much a definite. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
Top Gun 2
For those that aren’t aware, the movie was confirmed back in 2015 sometimes and was set to release this year, but instead will begin filming sometime this summer. The relase date as of now is June 26th 2020, so a year from now. That seems pretty far off but there is some great news. For example both Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer will be back to reprise their roles as Maverick and Iceman.
The only issue I have is after so many years is this movie necessary and does anyone even really care? The original released back in 1986, a full 32 years ago. On the bright side a lot of people will join the Air Force despite them being Navy pilots which yes, is a thing that reportedly happened. Either way, it should be interesting. Gears Of War Movie Set in Alternate Reality
As reported by Gamesradar it turns out the Gears of War movie will be be set in an alternate reality. According to Rod Fergusson while writing the movie they new the movie would have to be a good movie first, and a Gears movie second. During the interview he did say the movie will be on Sera and certain characters would be present, so I don’t think we will be missing some of the fan favorites. New Hunger Games Book Due Out in 2020
Back in 2008 the first hunger games book released, and the movie wasn’t far behind in 2012. It seemed like the world loved it, tho I did notice the later movies kind of fell off in my area. Now in 2020 there will be a new book, a prequel. Lionsgate is also eyeing a movie adaptation according to Joe Drake, chairman of Lionsgate. Shazam 2,Zachary Levi Expects to Film in 2020
During an interview with AP News he talked about how Shazam made his career bigger and this was a bigger platform. He also said that he expects there to be a quick turnaround for the next movie and it to start filming around mid 2020.
This honestly would not surprise me as despite only bringing in 363 million worldwide it only had a production cost of 100 million making it pretty profitable all things considered. Jason Momoa Wants to Play Wolverine
With the departure of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, the man nobody would argue is the ultimate Wolverine at the very least in the live action area. Who could possibly replace him? Well Aquaman has an interesting idea, and that idea is himself, Jason Momoa. As interesting of an idea as this is, i’m not exactly convinced. Robert Pattinson Batman Will be a Trilogy
As reported by Gamespot and Deadline will be a trilogy under the Batman name and will be directed by Matt Reeves, the man who directed Dawn of Planet of the Apes and War for Planet of the Apes. The first movie is so far slated for a June 2021 release with the others having nothing set yet.
