Venom trailer was pretty disappointing, considering we didn’t get a damn glimpse of Venom at all but holy shit the wait was worth it. The second trailer we get a lot more of the symbiote’s ability and the first image of him in all of his scary ass glory! I’m suddenly more optimistic, though I don’t know how they will get around the Spider-man stuff but I’m no longer dreading it. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
So Meg is finally here, adapted from the book about a giant ass prehistoric shark and pretty much seems to be what’s delivered. My friend Autobot, an avid fan of the book, wasn’t very pleased with the trailer. After finishing the book I’m reading now, Meg is next on my reading list. I think it looks like a fun, popcorn monster film with some cool visuals in the preview. The damn PG-13 rating is a red flag and a half to me. Ok, the Purge has never been my favorite horror series; the series actually gets under my skin. We live in turbulent times to say the least, and I feel the series could have said something reflecting this, but it doesn’t. It could have gone balls to the walls and said something about the cruelty of man and been this generation’s Cannibal Holocaust, but nope. This amount of wasted potential outright pisses me off. This trailer does not make me a believer, just a believer this is going to the same of a series that wants to be goofy, provocative, and shocking all at the same time and just sorta sucks at it all, but that’s my opinion. The vibrant contrast of colors of this picture made me watch the trailer and I was intrigued. Visually I was pretty hooked, curious as to the colorful neon Noir they were going for. I’ve always been a fan of Margot Robbie, especially after her great performance as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad so I’m always curious what’s she’s up to next. It has all been building to this, and finally we get to see the scale of Thano’s forces as well as the nerdgasmic sight of all the Avengers together. I don’t know what got me more: Spidey meeting Doctor Strange or Star-Lord back talking Iron Man. I pray the sense of dread and desperation the trailers present are true, like watching Cap struggle against the Mad Titan himself. Overall, that’s been my biggest issue with the MCU on the whole: grand, serious, dark stories tend to get watered down with quips and puns. Either way, I can’t wait to see how it all comes together this April. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
When prom night is coming two best friends decide to lose their virginity on the same night, but their parents have different plans in this comedy. this will be an interesting role for John Cena to say the least.
Fahrenheit 451 is one of those books that inspired me to keep trying to be a writer with a very uneasy dystopian society that has as much gravity in 2018 as it did when the book first debuted. Essentially the government wants to keep society tethered and sedated by cutting there sources of creativity and knowledge, books, with the use of Firemen- police who track down books and burn them. I have to say the tone of the trailer fits the mood I got reading much of the book. Also, I’m glad it has a very talented cast behind; I’m a big fan of Michael B. Jordan (can’t wait to see him in Black Panther.) and Michael Shannon. I’m legitimately pumped for this to hit. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
So as a concerned watcher of films, I have a very real question to ask Disney: was Yondu’s famous “I’m Mary Poppins, yahl,” line from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) a clue Mary Poppins is going to drop into the MCU. Just saying, I’d get a kick out of it. Anyway, so Mary Poppins has returned after a really, really long ass time and I’m not really sure why. I’m not going to trash the idea, but I’m aware of Disney’s old habit of pointless sequels such as Cinderella 2 and 3, Little Mermaid 2, and Lion King 1 1/2. Even Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which many didn’t like to begin with, got Through the Looking Glass which even less liked. The trailer looks fine and I think Emily Blunt can pull the iconic role off. I am genuinely intrigued how this will turn out and I can’t wait for another trailer. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
The rumors of Men in Black 4 have been going on since the third movie came out. But according to some sources such as variety the movie may really be happening. Will Smith is not attached to the project but that could change, but they are looking to cast a female agent to help bring a fresh look to the franchise. I’m not sure if I am looking forward to this movie or not, but time will tell. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
If you caught my Amazing Spider-man reviews, you may have got the feeling I wasn’t thrilled how Sony left its mark on Spider-man. That being said, I had high hopes: Tom Hardy- a great actor, a well fitting R rating, and a second chance to tell the story of one of Marvel, if not all of fiction’s, greatest anti-heroes. That being said, this trailer bummed me out. While I think Hardy is a great choice for Eddie Brock, I couldn’t help having any indication he was Brock, or this had anything to do with Venom at all. It looked like a trailer for a run of the mill Bourne clone with some sci-fi thrown in. I’ll give it a second go but needless to say, it didn’t impress me. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
