“Tempest Rising” Pre-Orders, RTS Fest Multiplayer Demo Available Now on Steam

A new era of warfare is almost here. Tempest Rising, the highly anticipated, modern real-time strategy game coming April 24, 2025, from Saber Interactive’s 3D Realms label and Knights Peak, is available to pre-order today on PC via Steam. Two new tactical titles from Yogscast Games coming February 6th

Following a livestream announcement by Yogscast last Friday, Gamersky and Yogscast Games are excited to announce not one, but two new strategy games set to launch on Steam — February 6, 2025. From Yahzj Games, Border Pioneer challenges players to build a pixel metropolis and defend it from outside forces. Meanwhile, chx games’ Stray Path offers a feline FreeCell take on the roguelike deckbuilder. Both games will be available on Steam next month.

As the saying goes, if you build it, they will come… and try to knock it down. The perfect blend of city-builder and tower defense, Border Pioneer gives players the opportunity to forge the fortresses of their dreams, and watch it all crash and burn before their eyes. 

In deliciously nostalgic pixel style, this upcoming strategy game offers an array of treacherous terrains, diverse foes and unforeseen dangers to discover as players expand their borders. As unchartered territories are claimed and enemies are vanquished, players are rewarded with new elements to help grow and fortify their settlements.

505 Pulse to publish Among the Trolls

GodStone: Early Access Trailer

Godstone from DemendPlant is a game I came across on Blue Sky from a solo dev that looked rather, well to be honest infuriating. It is a roguelike dungeon crawler that might just become your next obsession as you battle both minibosses and level bosses in what will surely be death after death as you enjoy a story of betrayal and secrets. You can try a demo and wishlist it on Steam now. I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this one. I will get back to you with more once I give the demo a shot. Flocking Hell (Demo)

So I got an email from Sextant Studios which you can find over on Blue Sky ( also feel free to follow me here ) Asking me if I would be interested in checking out their demo, and of course, I was only too happy too.

The game has an odd premise, and I am as the kids say, here for it. Hell has indeed opened up in the fields you call home, and you must connect the cities to defend yourself. You do this in what I can best describe as an auto battler meets strategy game for people who have little time to waste but want to have a hard time mastering something. Also, they grew up loving Minesweeper.

Did I mention, that you play as sheep? Yes, Flocking Hell refers to the fact you are indeed sheep. I do not know or care how these sheep built these full-fledged cities, but they have done it. You click these empty spaces to discover towns then connect them and watch these adorable sheep run to and fro to reinforce each other to defend against the incoming horde and after 80 turns, there will be hell. Sort of, the demons are honestly as cute as the sheep. I love those little guys even when they wreck me, and they did. For two hours I couldn’t get past level 4, I suck at this game. But damn if I don’t enjoy it.

A nice touch is the card system, you get them in between levels ( you do start with a couple) and they do various things like leveling up your cities or showing blocks, etc. They do cost sheep to use but the rewards usually outweigh the cost. I haven’t gotten the chance to use them all and I am far from having mastered the game and its mechanics, but check out the trailer below and absolutely check out the demo over on Steam.

8 Bit Adventures 2 Comes to Consoles (PS/SW/XB)

Australian developer Critical Games released their hit JRPG 8-Bit Adventures 2 on PC last year. Flushed from its success, and the critical fanfare it received from media, they’re eager to announce that the console versions – PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch – will release on October 16th 2024.
