Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated

Are ya ready kids? Bikini Bottom has been invaded by an army of robots (that totally didn’t come from the Chum Bucket, which is mysteriously locked down.) It’s up to our favorite yellow fry cook and his friends to save the undersea town from the machines that are wreaking havoc.

First, I just got to say I’m currently 31 years old and I still love Spongebob. This game stole my life for a couple weeks. Ultimately, the game is a solid platformer from a bygone era (PS2). Each character offers a different playstyle with different abilities; Sandy was my favorite and Patrick made me want to scream. The game is pretty simple, complete puzzles and get Golden Spatulas to open the next area. While this is the Rehydrated edition, you can tell this is still an old game with some old game problems- the NPCs are stiff, everyone constantly repeats their limited dialogue over and over again, and some of the more ambitious parts are frustrating to get through. Not all the voice actors returned which can be jarring to older fans. In the end, it’s a solid game, better for younger kids but not bad for grown-ups who want a little childhood nostalgia. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Mario Strikers Battle League Overview

What the hell hasn’t Mario done at this point? He’s been a Dr, played golf, raced gocarts, been in a universe of paper, and traveled to other worlds so why not this weird soccer-type game? Why this exists I don’t know but I hope the fans have a blast. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Resident Evil (Netflix) trailer 1

Well, I’ll give Netflix this, this seems to have more production value than Welcome to Raccoon City had. In some ways, I like what I see. In others, I don’t like that we’re going into the apocalypse again. If this is based on the games, I couldn’t really tell but I’m curious rather than pissed. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Dead Space Remake (Art Deep Dive 1)

This game looks so damn beautiful but holy shit I just want Dead Space. Why EA didn’t just remaster the trilogy like they did with Mass Effect Legendary Edition I don’t know. Apparently, it’s been revealed the game is set to drop January of 2023. I’m hoping we get an amazing evolution of a horror classic and not a dud ( Resident Evil 3 (2020). May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Gotham Knights gameplay trailer

Ok, I’m a hard fan for the Arkham series but everything I’ve seen for Gotham Knights hasn’t really impressed me. The gameplay honestly reminded me of Marvel’s Avengers (game) more than something akin to Arkham which kind of worries me a bit. The movement styles came off kooky to me than cool. When the last gen versions were cancelled, I can’t say I’m bummed, weary that it’s from the same makers of Batman: Arkham Origins . I’m hoping for the best but what does it mean? May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Kingdom Hearts 4 announcement trailer

Over the years, Kingdom Hearts has been a series I desperately wanted to dig into but I can’t say I’ve found the time to. 4 looks pretty damn cool so far but I hope we get Square Enix characters in this one rather than just Disney ones. Hopefully I’ll at least have some time in the KH series before 4 drops but the new installment looks promising. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Cursed to Golf Swings Its Way to Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch & PC Summer 2022

After featuring in multiple “2022 most anticipated” lists from leading games media, players can now see what all the excitement is about for themselves: a free limited-time demo for the game is available on Steam from now until March 27th at 8pm CET. The demo will give players a feel of how Cursed to Golf’s compelling ‘Golf-Like’ loop works, let them try the kinds of outlandish trickshots that only exist in Golf Purgatory and offer a taste of a retro-inspired soundtrack that, quite frankly, slaps hard. For the truly skilled corporeal golfers out there, The Scotsman boss fight lies at the end of the demo, beating him is the first true test of Golf Purgatory, good luck!

“With the heartening enthusiasm surrounding Cursed to Golf, we’re really excited to be moving towards release in Summer 2022 and finally being able to let people play it. Well, actually, we decided we’d let people play it now – hence this limited-time free demo on Steam!” said Game Director Liam Edwards. “Enjoy the first biome of Golf Purgatory, there’s some tricky holes and you’ll even have the opportunity to play against the first boss. Have fun and good luck on getting past The Scotsman!”

In Cursed to Golf, you take on the role of the Cursed Golfer, trapped in Golf Purgatory after a lightning strike stops you dead in your tracks. To ascend back to the land of the living, you’ll need to play through 18 dungeon-like holes. These hellish holes feature teleporters, TNT, high-powered fans and other challenges that will put your skills to the ultimate test in a ‘Golf-Like’ loop that will see you golf, die and golf again. That’s not to mention the bosses that you will have to defeat if you want to remove your curse and escape your fate.

You can get a helping hand on your quest in the form of Ace Cards. These cards give you access to world-bending trick shots, allowing you to stop time, readjust shots in mid-air, freeze otherwise hazardous bodies of water and more. These cards are not only a hell of a lot of fun to use, but will be vital if you are to beat all 18 holes within the PAR counter and avoid your curse returning you to the start and forcing you to golf your way back again.
