Dark Souls, the game most love to hate or hate to love, is getting a complete trilogy set coming to PS4 and X Box One this October. So good news, the price isn’t ridiculously extravagant and we are getting all 3 complete games, DLC included, so you do get a hell of a lot for your buck. Something that bothers me a little bit is the timing; with the Dark Souls Remaster coming out a few months ago, to me I can’t feel the hint at this being a last minute cash grab, but I’m also skeptic. So good news horror game fans, we have something new to look forward to. Supermassive Studios, the crew behind Until Dawn , is launching a new horror series. The first game is called Man of Medan and looks like the next step of making a spiritual successor to Until Dawn, mainly because I don’t think you could pull off a sequel. Not long ago the news came out that Dark Souls Remastered was coming out this year. More to the point it was coming to the Xbox, PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The only small issue was one of those versions, obviously the Switch got pushed back awhile. Well we finally have a release window and that window is, October. That being said I can’t help but feel that for many fans this may be a little to late for some as they have already been angered by the wait not to mention for many the update itself seems lackluster for others. It is with great sorrow I must say that at the Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin passed away today of pancreatic cancer as reported by People. This one of a kind woman was loved by many and rose to stardom at a time when not only women, but people of color in general struggled to have a voice. Aretha Franklin would go on to become the Queen and icon of not only soul but an entire era of musicians that to this day look back at with pride and in awe of what she accomplished. It wasn’t just her music that people loved, with hit songs such as Respect that became a battle cry for the civil rights movement and women’s rights. movement.
Aretha Franklin will be missed my millions, may she rest in peace and the gaming gods bring her glory.
Yup, in recent months Nintendo has sued 2 huge rom sites ( more on that here) which I get, from a business sense they need to. They are selling their own emulator machines with the NES and SNES classics and the rumored N64 classic. It wouldn’t make sense to let people give away the games they themselves are attempting to sell. On the flip side, it isn’t easy to find the games we all loved growing up. Most of the time finding them isn’t easy. It has gotten easier in the internet era obviously. Gone are the days of hitting flea markets and such in hopes of finding your favorite game. Granted it is still fun and I love doing it. The hunt is actually half the fun.
Sadly sometimes the game you want is just impossible to find, enter game emulators and roms. Just pop those suckers onto your computer, maybe handheld or one of the aforementioned classics Nintendo released and away you go.

Wow, so we got a fresh look at Red Dead Redemption 2 and I’m pretty impressed. First and foremost, the game is beyond beautiful. I have to admit, I’m kinda bummed we aren’t playing as John Marsten this time as originally thought but this new guy sorta reminds me of Josh Brolin so that’s cool. Personal interactions seem like a way bigger part of the gameplay. I’m glad melee combat seems improved. I’m pretty excited to see what comes in the next gameplay trailer and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
