Game of Evolution Click & Merge (Mobile)

Game of Evolution Click & Merge is clearly a clicker mobile game, and not a good one. You start with a single celled organism and combine them together. Each time you do this they will make a bigger creature. They eventually turn into land creatures such as dinosaurs, monkeys and people. Each increasing more advanced creature will be worth more money.

The problem is the game is never fun. There is no challenge to it, and the only fun part is that the creatures do look pretty cute. The sound is repetitive as well, so honesty while this is a short review, you shouldn’t waste your time playing this game. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Wizards Unite Makes 300k in First 24 Hours

The title really says it all honestly. SensorTower research says the game pulled in around 400 thousand installs and 300 thousand dollars in the first day alone, meaning the game seems to be another success for the makers of Pokemon Go Niantic. The game itself is more or less a clone of Pokemon Go, even the Pokestops and such are the same in each game. This isn’t really a bad thing tho. Go give your fandom of choice a shot. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

When There is no Time to game, and Nothing to Play Anyway

Anyone else just like that picture? I honestly am not even sure its relevant, it just looked cool. Anyway, how many of you have ever run out of stuff to play? Not in the sense you have finished every game you own, we all have that back catalog of games we will never actually get through. I own hundreds of games across multiple platforms. I could play games for my entire life and never finish them all I think, tho that is probably a gross exaggeration. The answer is all of us, it is how we got that back catalog in the first place,

Recently I have had a new issue. I simply haven’t had time to play. I haven’t gotten to sit down and actually play games really for about a month now, as I am sure many of you have noticed, and when I have I noticed I have nothing I want to play. The normal discourse of figuring out what to play next has been replaced with trying to figure out what to play at all. It is almost like reverse gaming ADD where instead of bouncing from game to game I simply never start one. I will stare at my PS4 or laptop for the little bit of time I can play then just never start anything. So the real question is, how do you all combat this? I honestly have no answer, clearly. It is all just rather odd as I have never experienced both of these things at once. Any advice obviously would be appreciated, also game recommendations would be great. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Speed Forme Deoxys and Shiny Spinda Coming to Pokemon Go

For those getting a bit bored with the EX raids lately, Starting June 23rd the Speed Forme of Deoxy. This isn’t the only new Pokemon coming up tho Starting July first Spinda will be part of the field research, and this will include the Shiny Spinda variant.  At that time Latias,Latios, Kyogre and Groudon will also be the 7 day research rewards. It will be a pretty good chance for newer people to expand their Pokedex, but for long time players the only exciting news here is possibly the Shiny and Deoxys. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is now available on IOS and Android, and is the newest game from Niantic. It is a lot like Pokemon Go in the sense that you walk around the real world to different real locations. They actually seem to match up with the gyms from Pokemon Go. I haven’t gotten to check it out to much, so I am not going to review it or go into details yet, but I did want to make sure you all knew the game was available in case you some how missed it. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you greatness.

Generals & Rulers (Steam)

Generals & Rulers by Hamsters Gaming and they were kind enough to hook me up with a review copy of the game. The game for me is best described as a grand strategy game for people that don’t have a lot of time. A lot of the finer points that normally take a ton of time to learn and master have been simplified.  Taxes are based off citizens and research you have, which you can then use the money to buy more scientist and troops. Scientist will increase how much research you get per turn and you can use that to research whatever you want, upgrades to troops, diplomacy or whatever else you want in the pretty extensive but simplified tech tree.

War is also quite simple. It is a matter of picking an amount of troops you want to send to a country, and they will simply go instantly that turn. The rest will stay behind to defend your country. There is no need to move troops to certain locations within your borders.

The amount of countries to choose from is quite impressive for the price point of the game, at least 50 depending on which era you play in but it goes as high as about 100, and there are 10 troop types, which does match some Paradox games tho admittedly  how useful each individual troop type is can be debated.

The game itself however is fun, and if you don’t have a ton of time to play and learn this type of game this one is for you. Each round can be played in a few hours and there is plenty of reason to play again since there is a bit of a difference in each era and each play through. The game however isn’t perfect. If you are used to playing games like Hearts of Iron or Crusader Kings 2 you will be pretty disappointed as there are no where near as many options for building or marriage and such. For $12 tho, it is worth it if you want to see if you enjoy this type of game. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Resident Evil 5 (PS4)

Originally released on PlayStation 3 with somewhat mixed reviews, my daughter recently got into Resident Evil 2 Remake and wanted to play the rest, so we decided to co-op Resident Evil 5. While graphically it isn’t bad and the controls hold up well, the split screen itself is atrocious. They don’t even use the entire screen, its just more or less 2 small squares of the screen, one for each player.

Aside from that, the AI is still pretty damn horrible as well to be honest. In single player Sheva is still more or less useless and will waste ammo on dead bodies. The story is also kind of convoluted, but that is pretty typical for the series. The game is fun in multiplayer tho, and I am having a blast with my daughter, but the game still leaves much to be desired and did not age very well for a lot of reasons. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Disgaea 4 Complete+ (Preview, PS4 and Switch)

As you all know i am a pretty big fan of NIS America and the  of Disgaea Series, and it all started with Disgaea 4. To see this complete edition. The game will come with a all the extra content and will have some as of yet unrevealed quality of life improvements, tho I assume they will be graphical and sound upgrades to what was originally a PS3 game.

The story is about an ex Tyrant and vampire, Lord Valvatorez, who has sworn to never again drink blood and has since fallen down the power scale of the Netherworld where he now trains Prinnies. This one will be worth playing I think, best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
