5 Favorite Game Series

I make the occasional list, and today’s list is simply 5 of my favorite game series. I know the picture says top 5, but they really aren’t in order. Let us have some fun.

First up is our friend Mario. I don’t talk about him much because I don’t own a Switch. But from the original Mario to Mario RPG and so much more I have loved so many of these games it is impossible for me to not have this on the list.

Next up is Mega Man, and I am counting both Mega Man and Mega Man X as one. Sure I loved them both and they are technically 2 different series with different characters but I would feel really dishonest to separate them that way. The blue bomber just had number 11 release as well as a few collections. Admittedly I only used this pic because I liked the gold number.

We all know how much I love BloodBorne review and that I have a love it hate it relationship with Dark Souls 2 Scholars of the First Sin But all in all this series, in general, has always brought me a certain kind of joy. I have logged hundreds of hours across them all and will probably sink more into it.

Dragon Quest is another series I have played since the very first all those years ago and even now with the release of 11 I am still playing it, without no doubt, I will be playing number 20 at some point. This turn-based RPG is a rock in the ever-changing sea of games that aren’t what they used to be.

Last but not least we have Final Fantasy. This is the opposite of Dragon Quest. See I have also played this since the very first one, but where Dragon Quest doesn’t change Final Fantasy is forever doing something new and innovating itself.  Between the 2 of them, the RPG’s of the past are in good hands.

So what do you guys think and what do you guys enjoy? Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Cooking Game-Master Chef Kitchen For Girls

The cooking game is a mobile game by Play Spirit Games with quite the simple concept. Cook food, sling soda and wait on customers. It looks pretty great and the sounds are quite nice as well. The game admittedly starts off pretty was. You can make a burger and one soda while customers come in one at a time, occasionally a 2nd will overlap a bit.

As you raise funds however you can upgrade to pour more soda, cook more burgers, toss toppings on them and need to handle multiple customers at a time. The game is challenging at times but fair, and while not really my kind of game fans of this style of game will surely enjoy this one. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Settlers Online

The Settlers Online is one of those rare in 2018 browser-based games, tho it did come out in 2011. The Settlers is honestly an odd game for me, I didn’t much like it but I wanted to. It is a typical builder game with wait periods and all. You will tame a wild island, battle enemies to ensure the safety of the people in your care.

It is essentially a pay to win game for mobile on your laptop tho less pay to win. The sad part is there truly isn’t a lot to even say about the game. The sound and graphics are nice, but nothing impressive and everything else about it is a standard city builder game set in a medieval time period. There are certainly better games out there and most are on your cell phone. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory/

Our friends over at Later Levels have a charity thing coming up to help our gaming brethren with physical disabilities play the video games we all love. Ok now I will admit, this does also get me out of doing a little bit of writing today and I am feeling a little lazy, but the gaming gods do demand we help charity when we can. So please everyone go check this out, at least vote on what they play. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Aftercharge Beta — Gaming with Noobs

So I was recently sent a key to participate in the beta for aftercharge from checking it out on steam the game puts you into 3 v 3 matches of search and destroy with being ramdomally thrown to the side of enforcer or workonics, those are what each side is called. Now I didn’t get […]

Disney Trademarks Hakuna Matata

Disney fans have at least one worry it seems. A petition on change.org according to Screenrant is quite upset with Disney for trademarking the words Hakuna Matata which in Swahili means no worries. Now I personally have not seen the trademark but some would argue they simply mean in the song but that would fall under copyright, not trademark so it seems they simply want to trademark works of a language so I can understand why they would be upset about it. This may be worth watching for fans of such things. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Super Smash Sells Fast, Surprising Nobody

As the titles states and as reported by Polygon and many others the new Super Smash game is the fastest selling in the series on the fastest selling console of this generation, and it should surprise absolutely nobody. Smash is the most popular fighting game in a system that has had very few and is full of the most popular characters gaming has ever seen. With the following, the series has and with the fact that the Switch is quickly catching up to the Xbox One which has been out far longer the only surprise would be if this didn’t sell more. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

We All Have Hidden Talents

This post actually isn’t even gaming related if I am being 100% honest. I was talking to a friend and was reminded of an incident at work a few years ago. I worked in a meat department and we were discussing peoples hidden talents and honestly, I wasn’t exactly fond of the people I worked with mostly so I stayed pretty quiet. One guy was saying he could actually see pretty well and really could. One was a pretty great runner locally and did really well in track and field events. He even showed us some of his state times that he posted in local papers from school.

This was when I was unfortunately dragged into the conversation. It was pointed out that my hidden talent was that I was a former pro wrestler. I, of course, pointed out this wasn’t very hidden, they all know. It was on youtube. The point of the conversation was to discuss talents we have that people mostly don’t know about. Nobody knew one of us could sing or was an amazing runner, they all knew I was a crappy wrestler.

I thought this was where the conversation ended since we all got busy but about 2 hours later back in the kitchen area they got on my case again about what I could do. In a moment of annoyance and I told my boss to toss a box across the kitchen to a table.  A bit confused he did it which is when I threw a knife through the box and stuck it to another box. After a moment of silence, I hear “where the fuck did you learn that?” This did require some explaining about how I like to learn weird stuff when I get bored on weekends.

I tell this story not to sound cool or interesting because I am neither of those things. I tell it because to look at me, well here.

That is a pic of me with a creepy Santa me and @torstenvblog found at the mall last Christmas. I don’t look at all talented and certainly don’t look like I would have that talent. So what you should do this weekend is looking at yourself and your friends and ask, what talents do we have? What talents don’t you know your friends have? More importantly, can you learn from them? With the year coming to an end and a new year starting try to better yourself in an unusual way. My talents really serve no use, mostly just fun things I learned for the hell of it. I do however enjoy them, so learn something even if it isn’t “useful”, it may just be something to talk about. Best wishes and may the gamin gods bring you glory.

Idle Champions Of The Forgotten Realms (PS4)

Idle Champions is just what the name implies, an idle game. You pick a level and your characters will simply walk and fight monsters and collect gold. You can use that gold to recruit and upgrade your heroes so they do more damage. This will let you kill stronger monsters to collect more gold. This sounds like an odd choice for a console game sine with multiple screens on a PC you can let it play while you work or so other stuff and simply do stuff when needed, and I don’t doubt that is what people do.

The game does allow the player to attack with the Circle button. The faster you hit it the more damage you can do. This isn’t why the game is interesting tho. What makes the game somewhat interesting is the fact that where you position your heroes matters. Some give bonuses to everyone in a row, another has a higher attack if nobody is standing in front of him. These are just two of many examples.

At the end of the day, however, this is still a free idle game. Progress at times will screech to almost a halt if you aren’t willing to drop a few bucks. You can eventually get passed it since the game will continue to collect money while you are gone but it can take awhile. The game is fun in an odd way, but only for some people. It is, however, free, so it truly is no risk. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
