I grew up loving the Addams Family like many others and it hurts a little that after 2 trailers this movie still isn’t clicking with me. While I think the cast is great, the fact the movie is animated kinda bugs me. While a lot of the jokes didn’t resonate with me, I think younger kids will like it. Dragonball Z: Buu Saga (Tournament)
After the finale of Dragonball Z: Android Saga (Cell Games) there would be a time of peace for Gohan and the Z Fighters. In the Afterlife, Goku finds himself with a golden opportunity to train with Grand Kai by competing in a tournament against the champions of the other Kais, including King Kai’s nemesis West Kai. Goku faces off against a mysterious warrior named Pikkon in the finals, a fighter that’s more than a match for the Super Saiyan…Seven Years have passed and Gohan has become a scholar like his mother always wanted, living with his mom and little brother Goten in a quiet life. For fun Gohan became a super hero while going to high school and became friends with the girl he’d eventually marry, Videl, Hercule’s daughter and small time hero in her own right. It isn’t long before Gohan and Vegeta, whose also living the quiet life, discover the power of Goten and young Trunks when they go Super Saiyan at ages 7 and 8. Goku earns the right to come back to Earth for one whole day so his friends get together and enter the World Martial Arts Tournament for old times sake but something devious maybe going on behind the scenes. Is this time of peace coming to an end?
For season 7 I have a lot to say. First, I think it’s the weakest season of the series and there is a shit ton of filler. My favorite part was the fight between Goku and Pikkon during the Other World Tournament. Goten and Trunks are have moments when they become annoying, and I can’t help but agree with Vegeta, something as awesome as the power of a Super Saiyan is now a child’s plaything. In fact, from here on out, if you ain’t Saiyan, you ain’t shit in this series. Characters like Piccolo and Krillin are pretty much rendered useless. While I understand why Gohan dedicated himself to his studies, I can’t buy that a mart kid like him would stop training altogether and would’ve kept preparing for the possibility bad times would come. Gohan’s superhero alter ego makes me cringe. In the end, if you can watch a recap somewhere, I’d recommend skipping this season and moving onto season 8. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Spider-man: Matters of Life and Death
Spider-man is one of the most pure hearted superheroes of all time, but has also suffered some of the most too. This book deals with yet another loss for Peter Parker as well as his drive not to kill…
Things were starting to look up for Peter Parker at last. He had a good job where he could use his scientific genius, he found a new girl and still best friends with MJ, and Aunt May was happy with her new husband and daughter in law, even if her son in law was Peter’s ex boss/ mayor of New York, J. Jonah Jameson. Jameson’s sins rear there ugly head when a group of scorned villains try to sabotage his son John’s big space mission, led by Scorpion and Alistair Smythe. Spider-man puts up a hell of a fight but Jonah’s wife Marla gets caught in the crossfire and dies in his arms. Once again Peter is wrought with guilt, not just over the guilt but the feeling that he’s too soft on the villains he fights and if he killed, some people would still be alive. When a psycho named Massacre starts committing his namesake, Spider-man’s morals are put to the test…
This book is a good addition to any Spider-man fan’s collection. Besides the main story, we also get some stories from Agent Venom, The Fantastic Four, and Power Man which was really cool. The writing and art are really well done and the story I liked a lot, reminding me why I love Spider-man so much, being a perfect blend of pathos, action, and humor. There are a good amount of villains, both well known and lesser known. The only complaint I have is the last story feels tacked on and doesn’t fit so feel with the overlying theme but was a nice decent short. In the end, it’s a good book for any Spidey fan and I’d recommend it. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Just when I thought I’d seen every kind of Zombie story I could, we get this. Miss Caroline and her kindergarten class find some zombies during a field trip. I fully admit, this caught my eye over the trailer for Zombieland Double Tap . bHonestly this is a idea I’m surprised we really haven’t seen yet and I’m actually pretty excited for this movie. Hey everyone, I’m back after a week of technical difficulties and I bring the most absurd trailer I found from my time away. Coming from the director of Thor: Ragnarok we get a bizarre WW2 movie about a boy and his pal Adolf…I can’t lie I laughed hysterically after watching the trailer just on the premise alone. That is truly a feat considering comedy trailers rarely hook me. It looks goofy but all in good fun. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Resident Evil: Extinction
So in Resident Evil (movie 2002) the T Virus broke out; in Resident Evil: Apocalypse the T Virus escaped and infected Raccoon City, ending in the Umbrella Corporation nuking the city to stop the infection. And in Extinction the T Virus has gone world wide; the desert took over Vegas and survivors are few. Alice, her powers brought on by the T Virus, is moving through the desert trying to flee Umbrella. Olivera and LJ have joined a caravan of survivors led by Claire Redfield who are running out of supplies. Alice discovers a diary telling of a possible freedom and civilization where allegedly the virus hasn’t spread. Alice joins the caravan as they storm a a Umbrella outpost, where they failed to cure the zombie outbreak, instead only making them smarter. A desperate scientist has also discovered a new formula that has horrid results. Can the survivors make it out of a seemingly dead world?
As far out- there this series became, Extinction is a surprisingly decent sequel. It does have some good, creepy atmosphere and a decent score. The action series range from pretty cool to over the top, but the over the top stuff is more fits better. The story is surprisingly solid and there are some pretty fair performances in it. Giving Alice psychic powers was pretty stupid but it hurt a bit inside seeing a dude who’s a mix of Birkin and the classic Tyrant having psychic powers. The effects are serviceable but not great. As I said previously, if you watch it as a sci-fi movie, it isn’t bad but skip it if you are a purist fan of the series. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith and the fight for Sanctuary
It’s certainly been a minute since Borderlands 2 debuted and until a few months ago, Borderlands 3 was nothing but a gamer’s wish. To help us get in the mood for 3, Gearbox released a new DLC for 2 that serves as an epilogue as well as a prelude.
Our heroes are in a sad place after losing Roland and Scooter as well as the fate of Sanctuary hanging in the air. No one seems to have the heart to take Roland’s place as the flying city’s head. Suddenly a new foe named Hector invades, spreading a deadly plant based infection throughout Sanctuary, turning it’s citizens as well as a host of raiders into monstrosities. Can the Vault Hunter save a friend and save there home from this new threat?
Like the DLCs that accompany the series, Commander Lilith’s is well worth the play. The story keeps what’s awesome about the series, having a funny but heart felt story and awesome gameplay with new enemies and humongous bosses. What I enjoy is now there is an option to start a new character at level 30, giving you a new opportunity to experiment with classes and skill trees you would have had to play through over 10 hours of gameplay for. If you love the series, definitely give it a play through. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Aliens: Dust to Dust
In Alien 3 we learned the Xenomorph can adapt based on it’s hosts traits, giving us a dog/ ox alien in 3; Dust to Dust gives gives us a surprising take on the Xenomorph’s ability to change from there hosts.
Maxon is a twelve year old kid living with his mom on a Terra-forming colony. One night he has a terrible nightmare, and wakes up to a dead animal on the floor and his mother is alarmed. He dreamed it was wrapped around her face. His mother isn’t so worried about that because outside the colony is under attack from a massive infestation of aliens. Without guns, just the bare supplies they can grab, they flee for an struggling, nearly full escape shuttle and barely manage to leave the area. When things seem to be going alright, Max’s mother’s chest explodes with an alien. The chest-burster kills one of the passengers but they seemingly kill it by destroying the ship around it. Now trapped in the sands during a violent sandstorm trying to reach an outpost to escape while being haunted by a one armed alien obsessed with Max…
Dust to Dust is a good ole fashioned survival horror story. I like that Max, a kid is the main character which adds some vulnerability. There are plenty of aliens, including a brief encounter with a Queen at the end, but I like Max’s connection to the one armed alien. The art is really good but sometimes the abundance of darkness makes some of the action scenes hard to track. The story is one of the better I’ve read in Aliens comics with some decent characters. If you are a Alien or horror fan, this is a cool comic to pick up. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Harley Quinn SDCC trailer
It’s no real new the DC streaming service ain’t doing so great, after the fast cancellation of Swamp Thing and the only Titans getting green lite for a second season, despite meh ratings at best. I must admit, I dig the bright, colorful, and pretty adult-rated Harley cartoon. I can’t say it looks great but it sure looks promising. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
SDCC Flash season 6 trailer
As with the CW DC universe, I’m pretty out of touch but I did love Flash, season 1 and always meant to catch up (ha ha Flash pun). Away, Flash season 6 has the Scarlet Speedster and crew facing off against Bloodwork who seems to have bone to pick with the crew. The only thing I’m not that thrilled with is how super bright Barry’s costume is to me; I know it’s traditional but I liked the darker red better myself. My the gaming gods bring you glory.
