In a desperate attempt to remain awake, the denizens of the last known city on Earth are reaching a panic crisis of reckless experiments in their effort to avoid The HUSH, the inexplicable disappearance of those who sleep. Effulgence RPG – ASCII-3D-powered sci-fi RPG hits Steam Early Access Dec 2 (demo available)

After checking out the demo for this, all I can really say is, go check out the demo. It is essentially a turn-based RPG combined with Monster Hunter. You go into battle and kill enemies, then use those parts to build bigger and better weapons. Effulgence RPG has a demo available, and it is well worth checking out.

Key features at a glance

  • Text-only visuals – the entire game (characters, environments, effects) is built from text symbols.
  • Tactical turn-based combat with a PING system that controls turn order and timing.
  • Convert enemies into gear – harvest raw parts from defeated foes and print new weapons and items.
  • Short satirical dialogues and a slightly absurd, darkly humorous tone instead of a heavy epic story.
  • 3D-style globe map built from symbols, with locations gradually unlocking as you progress.

It should be noted, and the Developer has been very up front about this, that the December 2nd release into early access will be a very compact version of the game because they want to focus on player feedback for the first part. There is also a supporter DLC during early access that will be completely free to anyone who gets the game before the 1.0 release and won’t become paid until after that. (Those who got it free will have it free forever.) So go check it out, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Construction Crew revealed. A new co-op simulator is coming to PC and consoles from Ultimate Games

Just announced by Ultimate Games and coming to consoles and Steam is Construction Crew. I won’t say it is coming soon, as it has some pretty lofty goals and some big shoes to fill. Tentatively, release is set for sometime in 2026 or 2027, but a demo is set to come out this month. Check out the demo below, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Wolverine PS5 trailer reveal

Am I the only one who thought this game would never come? After years of rumors, we finally got a trailer and all I got to say is- damn. Graphically, it’s beautiful and oh so bloody. Seriously, I love that they went all out on the gore. The characters look great. I’m personally stoked for Omega Red. My only worry is how to do a full game on Logan without it getting repetitive. Also, much like making a game based on Hulk, Superman, or Thor, the question also arises how to pull the indestructible death machine that is Wolverine without making him feel nerfed. I guess we’ll find out next fall. I can’t wait to see more. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Cheat Death Announcement. The Roguelite Horror game, where you roll the dice with the Grim Reaper

CHEAT DEATH Steam Page

Key Features:

– Build a powerful hand from occult cards found on your journey. Each card is a stolen secret or a forbidden tactic, giving you a fleeting edge against the inevitable.

– Embrace the chance to seize victory. Rolling dice unleashes raw, unpredictable power, offering high-risk, high-reward opportunities to overcome impossible odds—if you’re willing to bet your life on the outcome.

– The path is littered with eerie encounters and spectral pleas. Each event is a story waiting to be written by your choices, offering terrible bargains and glimpses into the grim world you are trapped in.

Fans of games like Inscryption will want to keep an eye on this one, which is set to release in the first quarter of 2026. Best wishes, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Shujinkou Nintendo Switch Release Date

There is a lot to be excited about here, but for the very short round-up, come October 2nd 2025, the fantastic RPG and Japanese learning game Shujinkou will be coming to Nintendo Switch. For my PS5 review, check Shujinkou PS5 Review and Language Learning Trailer.

There are some details to know, however. There is a major price change, and for a very good and valid reason. (No, it isn’t tariffs) The PS5 and PC versions contained essentially 2 games in one: Genya and Sabaku Arcs. Each is about 40-50 hours. The Switch version cuts he price in half and sells them separately, which lowers the barrier of entry in case you want to try the game out without dedicating the price of a full game to discovering it isn’t for you. This was an intentional choice by Julian Rice and his team in hopes that more people would give the game a try.

The standard edition will be $29.99 (US), with the super deluxe being $69.99, and in my opinion, worth every single penny of it. Between the fascinating characters, the interesting story and world, and the option to get to know a new language, the game is pretty one of a kind. Best wishes, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
