There is one thing I have to get out of the way here before we move on to the actual review.

Seriously tell me this is not one of the best songs in a video game possibly ever? I don’t even like this kind of music but here we are.

Anyway back to why you are here. This game looks pretty good for an updated PS3 game and we all know how I feel about the sounds. The game takes place on the island of Banoi, a beautiful lush tropical island.

This game was pretty divisive for 1 reason and 2 reason only. Many people believed the game had no story really which was weirdly hidden. Not that it was hidden well, you will find most of it with just randomly exploring and doing side missions. The problem came from the fact that many of the side missions are easy to miss. It is also very easy to simply run around killing shit and never even noticed the other stuff. The story itself  is fun and engaging and I highly recommend checking it out, if only for the sure fun of smashing zombies with tons of melee weapons. And while you are at it, may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Little Evil

Little Evil is a horror comedy new to Netflix that admittedly I watched for two reasons, 1. Adam Scott is hilarious. 2. step dads being abused by children is funny. This movie did not disappoint me at all. The movie starts with the step dad being legit buried alive. We then go back a week to see how we got here. The acting is top notch, and has a few cameos I won’t spoil. As the movie moves on it takes an odd but fun turn. For example in retaliation for burying him alive step dad fills the kids floaties with sand and sends him down a water slide because hey, the kid is literally the Antichrist. There is much more to the movie but I really don’t want to spoil such a great experience.

Comedy horror movies are usually pretty bad but this one gets my full recommendation for all comedy or horror fans. It pretty much has everything you would want with the exception of a standard horror movie sex scene but honestly its not even needed. Go give it a shot, an may the gaming gods bring you glory.

I watched this movie as a sort of joke. The idea sounded so basic I figured I would watch this have some laughs at the bad movie, come on here bash it a bit and move on.

Here is the very basic plot. A man moves his daughter and new wife to a new place for a job and away from the daughters sorted teenage past. The family soon finds out about some murders and strange disappearances in the home and odd things start happening. See pretty basic. The acting is nice, the script solid and the visuals and sound are well done. While I admit my purpose was to insult this movie I can’t. Its not perfect, and the start is pretty slow and at times seemingly without purpose. Tho with those complaints aside, the movie was still solid enough to be worth watching and the ending was one of those rare things I did not see coming. That alone was worth the time to me. So get out there and give it a watch, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Beast of Xmoor

This the the story of 3 people hunting a rare large cat in Europe. Georgia is for lack of a better way to describe her a sort of journalist of rare animals while her boyfriend Matt is a camera man. Georgia receives a a call from an old friend she met in a bar named Fox, a hunter and tracker of creatures and has helped Georgia in the past find creatures thought not to exist.

This particular hunt however takes an odd turn. The creature they are hunting isn’t a large cat after all, but what Fox believes to be a serial killer. The movie itself has some odd yet fun twist and turns while the characters may be a little one dimensional at times they are still interesting enough to get the job done.

My only real complaint is that the movie takes place mostly in the woods at night which is fine, but many of the scenes are so dark they are at times painful to watch. That aside it was a pretty fun movie for a B movie found randomly on Netflix and had a solid twist ending that wasn’t just done for the same of having one. i would recommend checking it out sometime, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

 

The Secrets Of Emily Blair

Aside from being another typical demon possession movie in pretty much every way imaginable, for fans of the Star Trek and Highlander T.V. shows there are some cool things involved. For example you get to see O’Brian (Star Trek) be a priest or Duncan McCloud (highlander) call a demon a mother fucker.

Ok now that my favorite parts of the movie are out of the way, this is the story of a nurse that gets possessed by a demon one night while at work. From there the slow descent into madness and possession starts. Small things at first, she blacks out for example a cuts a kids finger with a pair of hospital scissors. Then she cheats on her fiancee and finally murders someone. The acting is pretty well done and the visuals are average as are the sounds and music. The only part I can say I honestly disliked was the very very stereotypical exorcism scene. Tied to a bed priest doing priest things lies being told etc. The movie itself wasn’t bad nor was it good. It simply is. If you need to see a demon movie there are better out there. Have a good day and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Zombieland

Oh Zombieland. This is one of those movies that if you walked up to me and pitched it I would most likely call you insane.  Add in Woodie Harrelson with some soon to be A list actors and you got yourself a flick.

The basic premise is typical. Zombie apocalypse happens strangers get together in various ways but this time instead of this being a serious survival movie they loaded it up with comedy right down to small details like a guy with a cowboy hat painting the number 3 on all of his trucks to finding guns in a hummer and yelling “thank god for red necks” they really attempted to make it comedic but not outlandish. The zombies actually look pretty good for what it is and the movie basically starts out with some Metalica (for whom the bell tolls if you care) this is another great movie blessed by the gaming gods, and may they also bring you glory.

The Girl In The Photographs

Ok this movie is pretty damn weird. It starts out with two women leaving the movies and going their separate ways. After arriving home a girl is kidnapped tortured and has photos taken which are then posted places for others to see. With no bodies or reports of missing people the police are forced to chalk it up to pranks or street artist or some other random non criminal douchbaggery.  There is also a photographer that returns to his home town to take pictures. I have to admit i really don’t understand the movie. There is a lot of stuff that simply seemingly has nothing to do with anything else. Obviously later on it all starts coming together and things pick up a bit but first you will spend a decent amount of time wondering what the hell is going on. By all means give it a watch, its not a bad movie. The acting and visuals are pretty good. Thanks for coming and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

7 Days To Die

7 days to die is essentially a zombie survival simulator. You build tools chop down trees build weapons and cloths even a vehicle while scavenging for food,water and of course any other useful item you can find. The concept is one millions of people dream about and discuss at great lengths. There are only 2 types of people in this world, those with a zombie plan and dinner.

With all that out of the way, I have to say at least on PS4 this is not a well made game. Its rare but I have on occasion when unable to open doors or go into menus but after restarting the game work just fine. The graphics while not horrible have a tendency to tear and at larger distances its not uncommon for objects to appear and disappear. Zombies don’t have the best look and only come in a few different varieties. The shooting mechanics are stiff but work well enough and driving is a bit rough as well.

With all that being said there are no issues with the game that are a deal breaker or make the game unplayable. It also gets regular updates and has a very strong community attached to it. If you are a horror fan or simply love the zombie genre there is no reason you shouldn’t own this game. Stay safe out there and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

This movie is evidence I love you guys. I watched this piece of cinema shit so you don’t have to. And you shouldn’t. Ever. For any reason other than money or sex. And the sex better be upper tier high quality sex. So lets get to the review of this flaming bag of garbage.

First and foremost while not a big deal for me the movie is in black and white. The story starts off with a little girl talking to a man outside when mom comes to see him. He asked to come inside to use the bathroom and  like an idiot mom says yes. As you would assume from a movie listed as horror psycho here kills mom and dad comes home knocks him out and locks him in the barn. Turns out they aren’t going to kill him since he is the little girls only friend. Fast forward a few years and dad dies of natural causes, dude is still locked in the barn and now little girl is young bat shit crazy woman. Nothing much ever materialises after this. Time passes some dumb stuff happens and the movie moves on to the end with psycho girl killing a few people and kidnapping a baby. The acting sucks the sound is worse and it fails in every way to be entertaining or overly artistic. Avoid this movie, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Harbinger Down

Harbinger Down starts off great. Its got a ship in the arctic, a couple of cute college girls, a pretty nice looking Russian woman, a bad ass captain and a great premise. It looks nice sounds solid and the acting is pretty great. The story starts off strong with them crabbing at night and during the day tracking some whales. Not long after they discover a frozen ball that the whales were attracted to it. This is around the time the story turns to hell. Apparently the Russians infected a cosmonaut with something that is never really explained except that it was made from water bears. (Google what they are, quite interesting really) and it somehow creates a creature that can change its DNA as well as anyone it eats. It can also turn to liquid and grows some weird tendrils type things to kill. Oh and did i mention it can be frozen but is also immune to fire and ice? Yea it goes like that. I can’t think of another movie that went from great to total shit storm so fast. Still could have been worse tho. As always thanks for your time, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
