Curse of the Dead Gods, available now on PC Steam early access but coming soon (February 23rd) to full release on Steam as well as PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch is a dark fantasy action roguelite from Focus Home Interactive and Passtech games.
It has done well in early access, usually hovering around 90% in reviews and it isn’t hard to tell why with the support the game has received. Watch the trailer and see what you think. Best wishes and may the gaming gods being you glory.
While Andromeda was a huge letdown, I’ll never deny my love of the Mass Effect trilogy. The feelings I have are mixed at best. The possibility of another great Mass Effect warms my heart but will it be a continuation of the trilogy? A Andromeda sequel? Something new? Time will tell but it’s coming. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Developed by Regista and directed by Ever17 creator Nakazawa Takumi, Root Double -Before Crime * After Days- Xtend Edition follows the events of a nuclear meltdown at a research facility from two different points of view.
Leaving an unknown amount of survivors inside and a reactor at the verge of exploding, the rescue team is sent in to figure out the situation and save the ones left inside. Unfortunately the leader of the rescue team is suffering from amnesia, which makes the situation even more complicated. The player will uncover the events that have led to this disaster. Combining the stories of the different characters and experiencing every twist and turn is the only way to uncover the truth of what happened that fateful day.
What separates Root Double -Before Crime * After Days- Xtend Edition from contemporary games is its unique and highly involved Senses Sympathy System, in which the player must follow his senses and gut feeling and prioritize which character they want to focus on and follow, drastically changing the scenario and the outcome at every step. One wrong move can lead to their demise, and the many endings of the game are certainly not happy ever after…
The Switch port features fully HD graphics and crystal clear sound. This exclusive Collector’s Edition of the classic adventure game is a one of a kind with never before seen items and extras designed exclusively for ININ Games. Among the items are the new acrylic stand for fan favorite Yuri, an all new collector’s box design and a new artbook, as well as the fantastic soundtrack on a double CD-set with an all new jacket design.

Independent developer Phase Two Games today announced that their squad-based fantasy adventure RPG Battle Hunters will launch on PC and Nintendo Switch on October 20th.
Ahead of its October launch a playable demo of the game will be available on PC courtesy of the Steam Game Festival Autumn Edition taking place between the 7th and 13th October.
Players will command a team of 3 adventurous heroes, plunging headlong into dungeons, caves, forests and swamps as they heed the call for help from the mysterious ‘Old One’. This will not be an easy quest by any means; a vast array of beastly adversaries and monstrous villains will impede your journey across several different regions of the kingdom. Fear not though, for many mighty heroes stand ready to join the adventure as your valiant trio takes the fight to the forces of darkness.
Battle Hunters lets players form an adventurer party of 3, chosen from a line-up of 28 unique hero characters who are met and recruited along the journey. Be it the Wizard, the Gunslinger, the Assassin, or any other hero, each has their own specialized fighting skills and unique abilities that players can level up and enhance along the way.
With an original and fresh approach to combat, through a combination of turned-based and real-time action, Battle Hunters gives players the opportunity to build a uniquely skilled team of adventurers. Different heroes bring a range of strengths and weaknesses to the battle, and with such a wide array of enemies to confront, the player must use the right combination of heroes to suit their own battle style, and to ensure victory.
Players will face off against devious goblins and lumbering trolls, as well as vicious gargoyles and unstoppable stone golems so creating a formidable band of heroes with the right skills can make all the difference.
Battle Hunters arrives on Steam and Nintendo Switch on October 20th, check out the games Steam Page here with a chance to play the demo in the Steam Game Festival Autumn Edition from October 7th:

Strictly Limited Games and ININ Games are very excited to present the logo and key visual for Clockwork Aquario. After being lost for almost 27 years, the colorful Clockwork Aquario will be released in the beginning of 2021.
The game will be published for Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4 as limited physical editions. Clockwork Aquario will also be available digitally in the Nintendo eShop and the PlayStation Store. Other platforms to be announced at a later date.
The development of Clockwork Aquario started in 1992 and is the last arcade game ever developed by the legendary company Westone. Originally designed by the chief publisher, and co-founder of Westone, Ryuichi Nishizawa, Clockwork Aquario can be described as the swan song of a company that was part of an era with historic milestones such as the Wonder Boy / Monster World series.
Large character sprites, beautiful animations, vibrant colors – the game had everything an arcade game fan could dream of. But in the early 1990s 3D games and fighting games were booming in the arcades, so 2D games like Aquario, that relied on beautifully drawn pixel art, were no longer regarded as commercially feasible for the arcade centers. So the game never got released. Something that Strictly Limited Games and ININ Games needed to change.
The side-scrolling action game can either be played alone or with a friend in co-op.
Players can choose from three different characters, each of them with her/his individual moveset: Huck Londo, the daring ghost hunter, Elle Moon, the brave adventuress and Gush, the warmhearted giant robot.
This is probably the freshest 27 year old game that gamers ever enjoyed – and as this treasure stems from the arcades, it won’t go easy on the player!
“In the 90s, when game centers were dominated by fighting games, there was one title which had never been released, even though it was completed after more than two years of development and repeated changes. This title is Clockwork Aquario. Who would have thought that it would be restored and playable again? I would like to express my heartfelt respect and gratitude to those who have worked so hard to restore it. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that this work is a great piece of 2D art, where the pixel artists of that time put their hearts and souls into. I’d be happy if people would appreciate and enjoy it.” – Ryuichi Nishizawa
Larian Studio’s newest Baldur’s Gate 3 Community Update video, released September 10th, breaks down the game’s cinematic ambitions for early access, which begins on September 30. It also introduces more interactivity through Stadia Crowd Choice and Twitch integration. A huge leap from Divinity: Original Sin’s rock-paper-scissors multiplayer interactions, Baldur’s Gate 3 features 1.5 million words, with fully cinematic dialogues.
Using a mix of performance capture and bespoke adaptive cameras, the game is able to react to whoever you are and whatever you do, both in multiplayer and single-player. With the addition of streaming integration, even viewers who may not own the game now have a say in the player’s journey.
Larian’s Cinematic Director, Jason Latino, explains, “You’re telling your story, and we’re shooting it for you. We’re taking that camera down from being above the players and down into the drama, right into the action.
“I can’t think of another early access game that’s done cinematics on this level,” he added. “There’s a lot of games where the moment you add cinematics, they have to get smaller. We didn’t want to do that.”
Community Update #6 – Multiplayer & Cinematics goes into detail about how Larian is combining a cinematic, player-driven narrative through early access, with multiplayer interactions both within and outside of the game session. It shows how far the team has come since Divinity: Original Sin, back in 2014.
When enabled by a streamer, Crowd Choice brings the journey to YouTube viewers, where Stadia viewers can vote. The streamer is seamlessly presented with the results in percentages, and can then choose to follow the players, or go their own way.
Twitch integration works by numbering each dialogue option, which corresponds to viewer choices. This feedback is seamlessly integrated into the game, where both streamer and viewer will see each percentage vote next to each dialogue option. What’s more, players will be able to interact with the Twitch overlay to access the player’s inventory, character sheet, skills, and spells.
Both of these features are launching day one of early access, respectively, on PC and Stadia. This not only brings the community closer to the player, but also, due to the amount of permutations in dialogues, enables streamers to “DM” their own adventure for viewers, letting viewers partake in the story regardless of whether they own the game. Players will be able to become a part of their favorite streamer’s own private canon. Or, as a streamer or viewer, hide the feature entirely. It’s up to them. As always, the game reacts appropriately.
Early access is rapidly approaching, and Larian is happy to launch with nearly everything needed to give players a sense of the ambition behind Baldur’s Gate 3. Dialogues have more permutations than ever before, and so too does the game. Not only does the game retain the narration previous Larian titles are so well known for, you’ll often see that action on screen — whether it’s a vampiric bite in the night, or a slip of the tongue on a goblin’s foot. Of course, there are many more for players to discover on their own.
Whether in solo, with friends — or streaming with an audience — no matter how you choose to experience Baldur’s Gate 3, the tools and systems that allow the game to adapt to the story forged by players are ready for early access on September 30.
Red Art Games is pleased to announce that online pre-order for the physical boxed version of Kholat on Nintendo Switch are available now, with a limited edition of 3800 copies with a price of €29.99/£27/$35.
Billed as the most terrifying journey of your life, Nintendo gamers can experience this epic adventure game, which was created by Polish indie developer IMGN.PRO and narrated by famous British actor Sean Bean.
“We are very proud to announce the physical version of Kholat on Nintendo Switch – one of the best titles to usher in the new school term!” – Michael Binkowski – CEO of Red Art Games.
Kholat was previously released on PC /PS4 /XB1, where it sold over 700,000 units across those three platforms and accumulated over 3.5M users, becoming one of the most popular indie horror games. Kholat is an exploration adventure game with elements of horror inspired by the event known as Dyatlov Pass Incident. The player will plunge directly into the boundless scenery of the inhospitable Ural Mountains with the task of finding out what really happened. Controlling the main character you trace the steps of a group of nine Russian college students who went missing in February 1959 on Kholat Syakhl.
Kholat is told through a first-person horror adventure framework and presents an atmospheric storyline of intrigue and mystery. With standard survival equipment including map, compass and flashlight, the player must balance their health and well being with the challenges that unfold. A sense of unease will wash over the player as periods of time pass, the cold winds and wintery conditions that prevail as you move from location to location. Limited information in the form of notes and cryptic voiceover as the player journeys through the world add to the experience of feeling lost as ghostly figures roam looking for their prey!
After three decades in dormancy, we welcome the return of a true legend. Developed by one of Europe’s greatest independent studios of all time, Factor 5’s Turrican series became one of the most acclaimed and well regarded video games of all time shortly after its release in 1990.
Now, teaming up with the original development team, Strictly Limited Games is excited to bring back this legendary IP.
So I’m a huge fan of Suicide Squad comics and when it was revealed the next Rocksteady DC game was going to be a Suicide Squad game, I was pumped…until I saw the trailer. While I like the character cast, something bothers me about the art style, though I admittedly love King Shark’s design. I think the idea of hitting the JLA during there first go is biting off way more than they could chew, like Enchantress from the movie. While we have plenty of time, since it ain’t dropping until 2022, I hope the gameplay kicks ass. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
