Angel is one of those shows I watched when I was much younger that I enjoyed, tho it had a counterpart Buffy the Vampire Slayer that I didn’t really care for weirdly. I recently watched season 1 just for a break in my usual stuff while my daughter is running around and I have to say all these years later and David Boreanaz is still a joy to watch. He really nails the dark and brooding part of the show, but his sense of humor is still note worthy. A lot of people can pull of the dark and broody attitude or have a great sense of humor, most can’t do both as well as David. His chemistry with Charisma Carpenter is also pretty great who pulls off the ditzy rich chick role amazingly.

Both characters will slowly grow into people that are trying to improve themselves as they are far from perfect. Angel is on a quest for redemption as his previous life of evil landed him with a curse from gypsies that gave the vampire his soul back. They fight the good fight against other vampires, demons, and lawyers. The last one isn’t a joke by the way, there really is a law firm in the show called Wolfram and Hart. They are basically involved in helping the underworld stary out of jail and hide their activity. It is a pretty cool concept that works out well. Regardless if you haven’t seen the show before it is worth checking out. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

So I didn’t really binge this the way I did with Stranger Things (Season 1) or Stranger Things (Season Two) but that really had very little to do with the quality of the show and had more to do with the time I had to watch it. The show starts out a bit after season 2, the kids are a bit older and it is summer time. Just prior to American Independence day, also known as the 4th of July.

The season starts off a bit slow, but it does set up all the characters nicely. El ends up with a nice friendship with Max, we get to know the sister of Lucas, Erica. Mike and Hopper end up butting heads a bit due to Hopper being quite overprotective of El, and it really sticks out in this season. There is a reason for it, and I don’t want to get into why because it spoils some things, but it really makes the end of his story arc for this season that much more powerful.

The story with Billy being more or less possessed by the Mind Flayer is also pretty interesting, and admittedly I think season 3 does a better job with it than season 2 did. In fact, overall I think season 2 is the weakest of the 3, tho that is kind of like being the slowest person in on the Olympic swim team. Sure its the weakest, but its the weakest of a great show. There is as you would expect talk of a season 4, in fact, the creators, Matt, and Ross Duffer have long said there will only be 4, maybe 5 seasons of the show so it really shouldn’t be a surprise there is talk of season 4. Regardless, since season 3 just came out we will have to wait a while to see what’s going to happen, best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

I know what you guys are thinking, another quick review of  a show where savior says it doesn’t change, its still funny, was only 7 episodes and you should check it out. Just like I did the last few days. This is mostly true, except this season things did change a bit.

This season while still being the same formula of episodes mostly being unconnected in anyway, just being a bunch of one liner jokes and just being a cheap laugh and a guilty pleasure this one actually connect things across multiple episodes in a small way. For example it is heavily implies that Wayne is either going to, or has proposed to his girlfriend, but they never really mention it again.

Some of the characters that rarely interact also start doing so more, with some pretty hilarious consequences tho they are also pretty interesting. All in all this season while maybe not the best, was possibly the most interesting. I do have one more bit of Letterkenny news tomorrow then it will be tossed away for at least awhile. If I am being 100% honest if you have read Letterkenny Season 1 review or Letterkenny Season 2 or any of the others, you can basically get the gist of what i am about to say. This is really more of a status update for the show. Again Season 5 has 7 episodes and season 6 does as well, and the show doesn’t change. Seriously each season is just 7 episodes that aren’t all that connected except for a girlfriend here or there and that is it. Just some laughs, people getting punched and cheap insults. And with Letterkenny Season 4 the streak continues. The show still serves no real purpose, has no real overall story arc and is still pretty damn hilarious. The show however seems to be quite the cult type show, the people that love it really love it, the people that don’t really seem to hate it, but most people don’t seem to know about it. It has some great reviews for every season up to this point, and I feel it probably has to do with the short seasons. None of the episodes feel forced or like they were reaching for content. We will see if it lasted into season 5 tomorrow tho. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Now I know it seems like I am just blowing through these seasons and can’t possibly have a life. Well I am, and I don’t. It does however help that each season is only 7 episodes. I actually like the format they have going on tho. With each episode simply being its own stand alone episode with no real overarching story and it being a ton of one liner or rhyming jokes, the short season with half hour episodes really doesn’t give it a chance to get stale so far.

The show is however very much for a niche group of people. I don’t want to say it has a low class sense of humor, but it kind of does. It is a group of people living in a small farming town after all. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
