Mulan trailer

I’m going to be honest, I never watched Mulan as a kid but a vast majority of my friends have. I don’t think the trailer looks bad by any means, it’s filmed nicely and I like that it seems to have a darker tone but I’m likely not going to watch it the same as I haven’t watched the other remade live action Disney classics because I don’t see the point in them. The classics were classic for a reason after all. It still looks promising regardless, and may gaming gods bring you glory.

Anima (2019 short film)

I am going to make this pretty short and sweet. Anima is a short film that lasts about 15 minutes and I refuse to make you guys read a review that lasts longer than it would take you guys to hop on Netflix and watch it.

Anima is directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and stars Thom York (Radiohead) and Dajana Rocione. The whole thing is getting amazing reviews, 100% on Rotten Tomatoes as of this writing and 8/10 on IMDb.

There are 2 ways to view this. From a technical standpoint, it is amazingly done. The music is fitting, the dancing is well done and the imagery is fantastic. On the flip side, if you don’t like stuff like that, the movie is boring as hell. That is really all you have to ask yourself. If you like musicals and interpretive dance and or very artsy stuff., you will really enjoy this movie. If not, you probably won’t. That being said, it is only 15 minutes. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Knives Out trailer

I have to admit, I love that we are getting a modern who dun-nit in 2019. I’m so damn used to Chris Evans as Captain America I forget he can be pretty funny too. The cast is pretty awesome and I got a dark comedy vibe from the trailer which seem pretty cool. It seems like an interesting addition to the November movie list and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

My Best Friend’s Girl

My Best Friend’s Girl is another movie that was hit and miss with reviewers and fans. With a 14% on Rotten Tomatoes and 34% on Metacritic, it was enjoyed by 83% of people on Google.

The concept, however, is genius, I actually wouldn’t be surprised if someone had done this so they made a movie out of it. Tank (Dane Cook) a long time ago went on a horrible date. Eventually, someone asked him to do it on purpose. Ever since then people would pay him to take their ex-girlfriends on the worst possible dates he could imagine to bring their ex-girlfriends to come crawling back.

Seriously one date he shows up drunk an hour late and takes a very Christian woman to a pizza place called Cheesus Chrust. The date last about a minute before she storms off.

His cousin, not by blood, Dustin (Jason Biggs) eventually has him take out this girl from work he loves. Alexis (Kate Hudson) is a pretty serious serial monogamist. This is where things go to hell fast. Tank ends up falling for Alexis after they end up hooking up and sleeping together. They also, of course, get caught by Dustin. I won’t go into any more detail because I really enjoy the movie and think you guys should check it out. The acting is great and the movie is funny. While many people Dane Cook isn’t a very good comedian, he is a pretty good actor. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Dragonball Z: Super Android 13

dbz android 13

Its no secret the Android Saga ( Dragonball Z: Android Saga (Trunks) , Dragonball Z: Android Saga (Cell) , and Dragonball Z: Android Saga (Cell Games) ) was my favorite saga of the series and also had some pretty cool movies to correlate with it. One movie that fit really well was the Android 13 movie…

Dr Gero was a busy mad scientist indeed. Besides Androids 16- 19, the currently incubating Cell, and turning himself into Android 20, he had another bizarre mechanical trio created to destroy Goku: the dim headed trucker 13, the tall mute 14, and the small shit talking, drinking 15. During a shopping trip for the Z fighters and there families, Androids 14 and 15 make an explosive entrance. Goku and Trunks lure them only to be joined by 13 and Vegeta soon after. The Androids at first beat down the three Saiyans until they transform and the Super Saiyans demolish 14 and 15, leaving 13 on the ropes- until he absorbs there pieces and makes a drastic transformation. Can our heroes survive Super Android 13?

The movie for 13 is simple but pretty good. The beginning feels a bit slow, even when 14 and 15 show up but once its 3 on 3 it’s a good time. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of 13 in his normal state but as Super he is pretty cool. How he gets defeated I always found kind of strange and even kind of pointless but still cool to look at. In the end, it’s a enjoyable DBZ movie that isn’t great but definitely not bad. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

They Come Knocking (2019)

They Come Knocking is the story of a father that takes his two daughters on a road trip about a year after tragically losing their mother to cancer. The road trip follows the same path mom and dad took years ago and ends where dad proposed. The intent is to camp for a couple days then spread her ashes. Its not a bad trip, until some mysterious figures show up.

These figures turn out to be some sort of demonic presence that wants them to come outside or be invited in, because for some reason demons need an invite like they are some weird ass vampires. They can also take any form they want from your memories. They use this many times in an attempt to kill or kidnap the family. They can also make you see things that aren’t there.

I won’t give much more away that that because I won’t tell you to not watch the movie. It isn’t a bad movie there are just some odd choices that are never really explained. For example there is no real explanation on why these things are here, why they are harassing this family or any of the others or why they ending works out the way it does.

That being said, the movie is a nice family story (tho it isn’t by any means child appropriate)  about how they can come together and endure through adversity. I personally would not watch the movie again, but I can’t say I don’t recommend it.The movie just wasn’t for me. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Banana Splits trailer

I’m almost at a loss for words after this trailer. A few years ago, we were going to get a Five Nights At Freddy’s movie. Thankfully it got cancelled but we got this. I can’t say I find this the least bit scary, nor do I think anyone would, but I think this is going to be a great drinking kind of movie. The Splits look too goofy to be remotely taken seriously. Honestly, this looks like a Cartoon Network original horror movie they’d make for kids, but it’s clearly indicated as a R rated picture. As bad as it looks, I want to see it just to see how bad it will be. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Current War trailer 1

I have to admit, I’m in love with the cast of this movie. I’m a huge fan of  Cumberbatch but with a supporting cast of Michael Shannon, Nicholas Hoult, and Tom Holland I’m pretty set. A movie about Edison and  Tesla fighting over electricity sounds pretty interesting and from the trailer, there is some nice cinematography at play. I’m fairly excited for this movie. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Charlie’s Angels reboot trailer

I have to say, I wasn’t completely sure this movie was even real when announced. In our current entertainment world, nostalgia reigns supreme but after the epic failure of the last TV show reboot, I kinda thought the Angels were long gone. I guess not. Well, I can’t really tell if it’ll be alright but it does seem to have some camp which could be fun. I don’t want to shit on it mainly because I was a fan of the A Team movie and I get a vibe of it here. Regardless, I’m morbidly curious how it will play out. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum

john wick 3

When will the world learn not to piss John Wick off? After breaking one of the greatest rules of the High Table and killing on safe ground, John Wick has an hour before being ex- communicated and open for bounty and there’s an endless supply of assassins that want to cash in. Wounded, exhausted, and with nearly all his connections burned, it’s up to Wick to meet with the Elder of the High Table to cut a deal his hopes of making amends. However the Ajudgicator of the High Table is checking on Wick’s unlikely survival with her deadly enforcers, punishing all who defied the Table by aiding Wick to make it this far. Wick faces a choice as his future approaches, live as a slave or die holding what he loved dear; can he find the strength to beat consequence?

Like the first and John Wick: Chapter 2 , I loved the third, making an awesome trilogy. Reeves is once again a stoic badass with a heart. The action scenes are brilliantly done and never feel fake or CGI; I love that the series carries what I loved about old school action movies in the present day. The setting and characters are unique and once again the world is fascinating. It drags a little bit come the middle of the movie but picks right up by the end. I can’t wait for 4 but I hope 4 is where it will end, making it nearly perfect. If you love awesome action movies and cool stories, I highly recommend the 3rd chapter of Wick’s saga. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
