According to gamerant some how in the first quarter of 2018, more specifically March, someone bought a brand new copy of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on Sega Game Gear. Now honestly I don’t know if its a mistake or how a game that’s over 20 years old on a console that has long since been discontinued sells a new copy of a game but hey, its still hilarious. I first saw this movie a while back like everyone else at an E3 and thought hey this looks interesting, and pretty. I didn’t much care about the game tho. It was an interesting concept to be sure, it just didn’t seem like my kind of game. Of course when a demo came out tho, I downloaded that to give it a shot. Kind of our thing here at Savior Gaming right?
So the demo starts off with you walking into a crime scene. I was expecting to talk to a few people talk to the shooter and poof demo over. So I walk in and talk to the guy in charge, and he fills me in. A family android has gone off the deep end and killed some people and taken a girl hostage, my job as Connor, another android, is to save the girl above all else.
This is where my expectations were way off. As I wonder the apartment I must learn about what has taken place, and each new information gives me a better chance at success. From learning the androids name is Daniel to the fact that he was close to the daughter. As you piece the crime back together the situation grows more dangerous and it became time to talk to Daniel.
As you walk out the door Daniel takes a shot at you, but the injury isn’t severe. From here this can play out in many ways. For me I slowly made my way closer, gaining his trust and lying about the gun I had found earlier. I reminded him that this little girl was his friend and they were close and she had done nothing wrong. He just wanted to live after all and I was his only chance. This is when he let his guard down and I took the chance to put a bullet in his dead, freeing the girl and ending the stand-off.
After playing thru you get to see a flow chart of all how things have played out for you and the different paths that can happen, and there are plenty. After playing a few more times I noticed a few pieces of evidence I have missed and could have done differently and I have to admit, after playing the demo I have gone from uninterested in the game, to I will eventually buy this one. As many of you may already know the free battle royale game H1Z1 hits PS4 next month to the mixed reaction of many. For more specifics on the changes and a video you can look here but we are going to focus on how many people feel. Seeing as how H1Z1 was popular well before Pubg and Fortnight many would think people would be happy to see this getting a jump to console. After all, new players might revitalize the community. The issue is most PC player seem to have lost faith in Daybreak Games to deliver a solid experience to the console after years of let downs on computer. Kevin James is one of those comedians that is pretty much family friendly, and manages to make you laugh without resorting to swearing or offensive material. This stand-up is no exception. It is also quite possibly his best one yet. On topics ranging from getting his picture taken with strangers to his daughter repeating things he says at birthday parties at no point does he discuss things you wouldn’t want your kids hearing, but he doesn’t alienate adult viewers either. What seems like not long ago, but was actually 15 years ago the 1st Dishaea game was released, one many people seem to have missed. But luckily for Sony and Nintendo fans this fall an HD remake is coming to the Switch and PS4 with updated graphics and much more, and the NIS website is offering a limited edition special version. Well it finally happened. The new Avengers released so me and @torstenvblog planned a trip to the not quite local movie theater to see it. So with the help of a stolen ( borrowed from momma savior) car we journeyed off to see the movie. Now @torstenvblog didn’t have high hopes and truth be told while I was a bit more open-minded I expected a more solid movie I didn’t expect greatness. But how was it?
Well from the get go this doesn’t waste time getting into to. You won’t be waiting around to see Thanos or getting into the story. You will be thrown right into things, and not in a bad way. The only real draw back is that while you don’t have to see the last Thor movie or Black Panther movie for example to enjoy this one ( I did not) it truly will help and I highly recommend it. This is by no means a good spot to try to enter the MCU, but it can be done I think.
Thanos as a villain is great,I have my own theories on this one but that will be in a future post. Suffice it to say I enjoyed hating this bastard. It was also nice having a bad guy that not only wasn’t an idiot but also did things that were actually bad. He is by far my favorite villain not named Loki.
The movie isn’t perfect of course, but it was still great and Thor by far stole the show. I loved seeing Dr. Strange and and Tony Start bicker back and forth and Spidey making Alien reference this week of quite nice. Some of he CGI looked a bit off at times especially when it came to the Hulk Buster suit. @torstenvblog felt the pacing was a bet off as well but personally I enjoyed the roller coaster like ride. The ending is also not anything I wasn’t expecting, but they managed to do it in such a way that I didn’t care, and for me that was all that mattered. This movie should not be missed. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
As we enjoy another big movie release, and we just enjoyed another big game release with God of War I have seen another massive amount of people either spoiling these things or complaining about people spoiling it for them. Seriously I have to say. Stop it. Just stop. Now I am not saying never, if a movie has been out awhile feel free to discuss and post about it. If you run a blog or post the ending to a movie that has been out on DVD a few months or years I am not talking to you, you have done nothing wrong.
I am talking to you people who think it is funny or clever to post the ending to movies that come out that day, or even later in the week. You know, the people that blow through a game in a day then post the ending on Facebook. You aren’t funny, you are an asshole. You aren’t only spoiling the movie for fans, tens of thousands of man hours go into making these movies and games. Despite popular belief most of these people that get paid millions legitimately love what they do and want people to enjoy their work, and you are destroying that part of their job.
Don’t get me wrong, I know some people don’t mind spoilers. If your friend says hey whats the ending by all means shoot him a text and tell him. That is between you guys. But if you are the guy posting it on Facebook and spoiling the ending of a movie or game people have waited years to see, you aren’t funny. You are just a shitty human being. So just stop ruining movies and games, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
