As always it is that time of year for games to be added to the video game hall of fame in Rochester New York. Mortal Kombat and Mario Kart are in for pretty obvious reasons. Both changed an aspect of gaming, but Solitaire is a bit weird for most people. After all, it was just a packaged game that came with most computers. It is also a game that most people know how to play and have played because of it. It made casual players look for other games to play and really brought an entirely new group of people into gaming and for that, I understand why it is there. Deadpool 2 came out to some mixed reviews is some areas but I felt was pretty funny. The story is pretty standard stuff, Deadpool is killing people and cracking jokes, after all, he is the merc with a mouth. The reason he is killing people isn’t all that clear in the beginning, and I don’t want to give away what changes. He will eventually be fighting Cable to save a kids life. This will make him form a team in efforts to save him.
The movie has quite a bit of action and it shines there pretty well, but the big thing to remember here is a lot of this movie will depend on how you feel about Ryan Reynalds. The humor is quite a bit like his other movies except he is playing Deadpool. This isn’t bad for me, in fact, I really enjoyed it. The jokes made me laugh, for example, at one point he is in the X-Men mansion complaining about the lack of people and the company cheaping out on him when he walks past a room and we get a cameo from a group of X-Men from the movies closing the door real quick on him.
If you enjoyed the first Deadpool you will mostly get more of the same, and there isn’t a ton of twist and turns but the ones that do exist are worth it. I also think the end credits scene may be the best, possibly in movie history. In fact, it alone may be worth watching it for. People that aren’t fans of Deadpool tho may want to avoid this one tho. Every month PSN tosses out some free games that I mostly forget to play and I feel like this month will be no different. This month starting on the 7th we will be getting What Remains of Edith Finch.

Games, like all forms of media entertainment, have expectations and as part of life, sometimes our expectations crash and burn. Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was one of my favorite Star Wars games and one of the games that got me the Battlefield franchise. You can imagine my joy when I found out the makers of Battlefield were making there own Battlefront game…
EA’s Battlefront first and foremost has no actual story mode. It stays exactly within the original trilogy of Star Wars , The Empire Strikes Back , and Return of the Jedi . If you got the plain $60 copy, you essentially got a game with a small hand full of repetitive maps played with basic game modes. The game looks great and sounds great and the gameplay itself is solid but my friend Autobot and I sat down and played every mode this game had to offer in about 3 hours. The heroes, to which each side has only 3 each, are clunky but wreck infantry easily enough. There was a huge lack of vehicular combat, let a lone being able to seamlessly jump in. Flying was serviceable but clunky.
Let’s keep in mind however, this game was released in 2015, around the time The Force Awakens was coming to theaters. While I have access to the DLC maps and two bonus heroes, just from sight I can say it doesn’t seem like much considering what the season pass originally cost. Finally, we come to epic problem: because this is a strictly multiplayer game with a bad reputation to begin with, it’s hard as hell to get a game going. I waited 10 minutes to play a game at 1:00 pm on a Tuesday in 2019 and got nowhere. As far as I can tell at the moment, it’s nearly a dead game which is why I can’t recommend it at all, even for dirt cheap. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Pixel Starships is a mobile game from Savy Soda. The concept is pretty simple, you command a ship that you slowly build up over time to beat bigger and bigger ships. The graphics are pretty nice pixel graphics as the name implies and the sound is pretty nice.
My only real issue is that its a bit hard to control. You have to slide power bars to weapons or shields depending on what you want to do and it just doesn’t always want to go and it can be a bit frustrating and once or twice it did get me killed. If you enjoy this type of game tho it isn’t a deal breaker. There is also a story but honestly, it is pretty forgettable, I stopped caring like 20 minutes in. All in all, it isn’t a nad mobile game to kill some time with, just don’t go in expecting a ton. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

This is going to be a beautiful train wreck. Seriously, I want to go see this in theaters. It is going to be the movie of 2019 people enjoy but nobody admits too and gets horrible reviews. It will be this generation Super Mario Bros. wherein a few years we look back at it fondly but we know it wasn’t a good movie, but we enjoyed it anyway. So I am sitting at home the other day, wondering what to do with my day while baby savior rips my house apart like 2-year olds do, and my phone goes off. Hey, its an e-mail from Maximum Games. They always send me cool stuff to see. It’s about a game called Overpass. So I checked out the e-mail and watched the trailer and I have to say, seeing Bigben (V Rally 4 Review PS4) attached to it and Zordix racing had me interested.
This time around you will be driving Quads and buggies and driving across extreme tracks up logs and rocky slopes with real vehicles from Yamaha, Suzuki and Arctic Cat. As of now all I can say is there will definitely be a career mode and multiplayer and it will be released in October 2019 for PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC.
