Overwatch PS4

Oh Overwatch, possibly the most popular competitive game out there right now. And I have to be honest, if any other company made this i’m pretty sure people wouldn’t care about this game. While hard to master this game is as basic as basic gets.

You pick a character each with unique ability, some are healers others are defense oriented others attack or some variation. Then its time to team up kill each other or go for an objective.

That’s pretty much it. That’s the game. Graphically it looks good and the sound is great but the story is pretty much all online and you must go to different places such as YouTube to find it.

That being said while the game is as basic as basic gets there is one thing that is hard to really describe and get across in a review, if you like multiplayer or competitive games, the game is simply fun. I played by myself a bit and honestly hated the game. A friend however harassed me to play on a team with him and about 4 hours later I didn’t even notice that much time had passed. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Worms Battlegrounds PS4

I have played a few worms games in the past so seeing a free one for Novembers free games wasn’t a disappointment for me.

The story mode isn’t bad but mostly seems like a large tutorial getting you used to the games and weapons for the real meat and bones of the game which is online multiplayer. Either build your own clan or join a friends and away you go at killing worms with other worms.

The customization while not tremendous is nice, with plenty of options to toss helmets and funny faces or mask on your murderous worms that you can change the names of. You can also choose the name and emblem of your clan as well. (Feel free to look me up on PS4 the clan is called Savior Gaming and my psn name is Savior699)

The controls take a bit of getting used to and can be a bit clunky but aren’t to bad or even enough to hinder game play enough to matter.

Honestly for $25 its a bit much to pay, for $15 I’d recommend it but for free you should really play this game for a bit and try it out. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Sims 4 Console Preview

The Sims 4 finally comes to console next week and is being advertised as the first time a sims console game will be the same on both PC and console. While I have my doubts there isn’t much longer to wait. The base version releases on the 17th however if you reserve the deluxe version you get to play it 3 days early. I will try to have the review as early next wee as I possibly can, but until then enjoy this launch video.

Cities Skylines PlayStation 4

Cities Skyline is a city creator for the PC, Xbox One and and PlayStation 4. While obviously not perfect, no game is, this one is particularly good. Sim games on console are usually pretty hit or miss. Heavy on the miss.

Cities Skylines however manages to have nice controls that function well on a controller. And while mod support is missing on console and the DLC hasn’t released yet (snowfall comes out this month) if like me you love city builders and sim games this one is absolutely a must own.

The sound isn’t bad tho like any game it can be a bit repetitive and at times annoying for some people, personally I didn’t mind it but be aware you might.

Graphically for this genre it looks great but there are on occasion some dips in frame rate. Nothing game breaking but they do exist and can be mildly annoying. Aside from that the game looks and plays amazing and watching your people come and go and drive around is great.

This game is worth buying, but only if you enjoy the type of game. Everyone else should probably pass however. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Last of Us 2

The Last of Us was one of those games people knew would be solid. But few knew it would be a must play game before it released. The story alone was great but it was also beautiful. There is also some debate as to of you are even the good guy. (Honestly I don’t think you are) Sure you save the girl, but at what cost? Anyway we have a knew trailer and part 2 and it is magnificent. Enjoy.

Pokemon Ultra Sun and Moon

Saw a fun trailer for the new Pokemon games introducing Team Rainbow Rocket and the return of the legend Giovanni himself.

I like that the trailer seems to acknowledge the link between him and Mewtwo. The game is looking pretty interesting. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory

The Hunter Call of the Wild

This is not my usual game. I have played a few hunting games in the past but I am not usually a fan. Been hunting a few times and I have enjoyed it. The games I’ve played tho just failed in every way to capture that thrill of hunting. The searching, the excitement of seeing your soon to be dinner. The heart break of a miss and the pure joy of a kill. Until now.

Just to get this out of the way, if you don’t have the patience to simply wander around for 30 minutes or an hour or even longer just following a trail, trying to line up the perfect shot then possibly following it some more if your shot fails to hit its mark and drop your animal quickly, this game probably is not for you.

The game is beautiful. Maybe not the best graphically but the views in the two insanely large areas are nice with plenty to see. Ponds, ridges cabins and more to explore. You can easily spend hours just wandering around seeing what you can find. In fact my first 3 hours playing I shot 4 animals and only because I randomly ran into 3 of them. And yes much like the real world if you wander around making a ton of noise chances are you won’t be seeing much of anything.

Wondering around however is not a waste of time. Tracking animals or finding new sites will actually gain you experience and money to buy better weapons, or an ATV to make travel much easier and trust me. You want the ATV, it is a long walk to across the map on foot. Animals won’t stick around so you will want to park it when you want to hunt. I saw someone in the PC version crash the ATV and have to walk and even crash it into a bear, but I don’t know if the PS4 version allows for it.

At the end of the day tho if you like hunting or even just relaxing in a massive open world by all means give this game a shot, but if you like more action this game is not for you. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Zombi (PS4)

First a story with this game, I bought it awhile back because it looked interesting. Like 2 weeks later it became the free game for the month. This pissed me off even more than I already was with the game.

The game has sub par visuals, the controls are a bit stiff but passable. Neither of these issues are that big of a deal but are worth mentioning tho for most people they won’t even be an issue.

The concept itself is pretty interesting. Trapped in London during the zombie apocalypse (I’m really getting sick of typing that this month) you will explore various historical locations and other places to find supplies and weapons to move the story along and escape.

Another really cool part is what can only be described as semi permanent death. If your character dies that character is simply gone. You however won’t start the game over. Any items you have stored will still be stored and any progress you made will still be there. You simply get a new character. Your old stuff is actually still with your old character whom is now a zombie at your old location that you can kill and get your stuff back. If running from zombies wasn’t bad enough and nerve wracking having to basically beat yourself to death is pretty sadistic to say the least.

In the end I personally did not enjoy this game and would not recommend it. Others I know thought it was ok, but at the very least you should find it on sale for as cheap as possible. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
