7 Days to Die Revisted

I reviewed this game a few months ago when Savior Gaming first started, since than I have logged a few more hours in, the game has had a few updates and I really felt it was worth coming back to this one. Not because I said the game was bad, the game was always pretty decent despite a few graphical and frame rate issues.

The graphical issues are largely unchanged. Even on a PS4 pro and a 4K television the game doesn’t look that great compared to most games. While some work has been done you will never mistake this for a triple A title.

The frame rate issues have mostly been taken care of, and for couch co-op the game no longer randomly freezes when 2 people attempt to enter menus and aside from some lag when player 2 enters the game you won’t have to many issues if any.

The online experience is fun and I never seem to have an issue finding a game to join in with or run into people just being a pain in the ass to new players so it still seems to be pretty active.

The game experience itself is still mostly unchanged. Enter enter the games already rendered world or a randomly generated one, do the short tutorial. Try to survive while building a base that will withstand the zombie horde that will attack every 7 days and gets a bit harder each time. The game is not for everyone but for those into that sort of thing it provides hundreds of hours of fun. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Organ Trail PS4

A while back I wanted to play a game from my childhood. Oregon Trail. The original by the way not the 4 million sub par versions that came after. That is when I stumbled on this and figured why the hell not.

The game plays just like Oregon Trail. You pick a vehicle, in this game you start with a car. Buy some supplies with your limited money and head out to travel across America with whatever you choose to name your party. I recommend Romero because hey its a zombie game and there is a trophy involved if you make it with him alive.

As you travel you will have to make an assortment of decisions such as how to pass a horde of zombies or what to buy in a town or what upgrades to buy with your limited money. You can also choose to help or ignore odd jobs.

While the game is simplistic in both sound and visuals it is still fun if you were a fan of Oregon trail, and the co-op is a nice time kill as well. Give it a shot, best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Evil Within 2 Review

There is a fun, or maybe odd story about how I played the first Evil Within. It went something like this “hey savior try Evil Within” I said it looked kinda weird he told me to shut up stuffed it in my backpack and sent me home and next thing I know I was hooked.

So when part 2 was revealed we were both pretty excited. And I must say I was not at all disappointed. So without further ado, My Evil Within 2 review.

First lets get the obvious part out of the way. Visually the game looks amazing. No, obviously it is not the best looking game out there and I doubt anyone expected it to be. The game is creepy much of the time tho for what is not there. The insane gore level from the first game has been toned down in much of the early chapters. When it randomly comes back however it comes back hard and it means that much more.

The atmosphere shifts between Union, a town created by Mobius, and what can only be described as the background behind the scenes sort of like the halls for staff at malls and maintenance. This as as sort of a HUB for travel which will make much more sense when you play the game which I promise works well.

The game play reminds me of a small open world horror game, it was very rare I felt confined in my hunt for the core that shall remain nameless in my attempt to avoid spoilers. It is also why I won’t put a name to the sick bastard photographer you are hunting.

There are a number of improvements I enjoyed greatly. For example your office that acts as a central headquarters. Instead of a large area with multiple rooms with a chair for upgrades and another room for lockers and a central area where the nurse stands you have an office with a hallway and couple rooms. The chair, lockers and nurse are in one spot and it really streamlined the whole process.

The gameplay itself has been slowed down a bit. I found myself mostly sneaking through town stabbing creatures in the back of the head. I can’t lie, this was a lot of fun. Now, you can just run around killing stuff but that will also risk getting you killed, but it can be done

All in all, this game to me is a must buy and is absolutely in the running for game of the year as far as I am concerned. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Fortnite Battle Royale

fbr

Fortnite Battle Royale may be the prettiest free game I personally have played, and it is a lot of fun. A weird flying bus will fly over an island and dump you and 99 other player over the island where you will land and the free for all will commence. You can build structures, chop down trees or other structures collect supplies and explore, all in an effort to be the last one standing. The game is far from perfect but they are making improvements and it is a lot of fun. My favorite part is when you die they don’t force you to watch the rest of the round, you simply join a new game which never takes long to find. Now get out there, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors

zamn

I first played this game for the Super Nintendo years ago.I spent days shooting zombies with a squirt gone and various other off the wall but fun weapons before I realized the game seemed to just repeat levels. Or maybe I just sucked at the game. Either way the game was one of the few games as a kid I remember my mom actually sitting down to play for hours on end.

All the levels while vastly different different play out the same, kill stuff and rescue people. This game was simply a lot of fun to play, and any retro fan should give it a try. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Transport Giant PS4

Yes I know it is October, but occasionally I do have to review stuff that isn’t horror related. but here have a ghost train.

ghost train

Dead serious, do not buy this game expecting a ghost train, there isn’t one. That being said if you like in depth simulation games this may be for you. This isn’t exactly a game you can sit down and play for 15 or 20 minute and be successful at in a meaningful way. In fact one of the trophies is for playing 100 hours. The sound is nice but not spectacular and the graphics aren’t good but for a sim game they are passable. At the end of the day tho this game is really only for die hard fans of the sim genre as you will spend a lot of time in menus and plotting courses as you build an empire transporting goods to various businesses and towns all pre built, anyone else should spend their money elsewhere.

Game Dev Story (Mobile)

game dev story

Game Dev Story is a Mobile game from Kairosoft  where you run a small software company. As you choose types of games and hire new employees you make more money to create more games. The game itself is interesting and not very hard however it also is not easy. It will require a few play throughs to figure out how to unlock all the different game types you can create and the best way to combine them, but the game itself is easy to get into and at times hard to put down. There is a free trial version if you are curious, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Mario 3 Retro Review

Mario 3

Super Mario Bros. 3. I had not touched this game for a long time. Admittedly as a kid i thought this game as a masterpiece. One of the best of the best. As an adult? This game is still a classic deserving of its status in the gaming world. As you guide our favorite plumber thru world after world of side scrolling action discovering new powers and costumes and even whistles you will plow through many different levels and enemies. Before you know it hours will have passed you by. If you consider yourself a gamer and have not played this game you owe it to yourself to try this one out. And may the gaming gods bring glory to you all.

Final Fantasy 9 (PS4)

Every so often in gaming something happens that is a nice surprise. The other day I woke up to an e-mail about the sudden release of a classic from my childhood. Final Fantasy 9. The story of Zidane and Garnet on their quest to save the world. Sure there is much more to this amazing game, but most people know the story. They want to know, how does this hold up?

Well this port was given the full treatment. Beautiful HD graphics, trophy support ( as of the Saturday of release someone has already managed the Platinum) and just like the Final Fantasy 7 port its of the PC version and has some fun little cheat codes you can choose to use. If you never played before I would suggest skipping the max level stuff but if you just want the story that alone will make the game a breeze.

If you are a fan of the JRPG genre, the original release or the series you owe it to yourself to purchase this game. It is truly a treasure, and is easily one of the Best games ever made. Thanks for reading and may the gaming gods bring you glory
