Zombie Army Trilogy is one of Savior and I’s favorite co-op games, so I was shocked how in depth the fourth game overhauls the classic. So far, I’m hyped for the new customizable weapons and gory new enemy types. Besides that, I’m glad we are getting more varied locales and the game looks to be keeping the classic Grindhouse feel. This very well might be a birthday surprise to myself this year for sure. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

For Black Friday this year, I bought myself a game me and a few of my friends have been waiting for. What if you took the beauty and story of a anime and combined it with the gameplay style of a Souls game? Let’s find out.
In Code Vein we awaken as a Remnant in the wake of a brutal vampire war between the Revenants and the Lost., having to piece our memories together. The Revenants are struggling to keep there hunger for blood at bay and maintain there humanity while the Lost are vampires who have mutated into viscous monsters. With your allies Louis, Ios, Mia and Yakumo you have to traverse a broken dystopian odyssey in search of peace and to destroy the cause of the madness…
First, I have to say, I thought originally this game was going to be a Souls ripoff with a anime skin and a few kinks thrown in much like the The Surge or Lords of the Fallen (PS4) felt, but that quickly goes away. This game and how you approach combat is extremely versatile because of the Blood Codes, which is series of attacks and abilities based on another character where you can mix and match. Your partners also provide extra attack power and defense with pretty decent AI so they thankfully do there job. What really sells the game is the art style and the overall story which is pretty captivating. A flaw the game has with all the options and having a optional partner can feel a bit overwhelming and the game can feel a bit too easy with few difficulty spikes that are pretty easy to overcome. Another minor issue I have is while impressive to look at, none of the bosses really stand out and for the most part they go down fairly easy. In the end, Code Vein is a pretty epic game with a good story and extremely versatile gameplay that I definitely recommend, especially if you want to wade into Souls type games. Doom: Eternal trailer 2
Normally delays piss me off but after seeing this peek at the newest Doom, I think it’ll be well worth it. The demons look great, the music is badass, and there are tons of fast paced gore and weapons. Here’s hoping for a bigger, better sequel. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Littlekenny (Season 1)
Those that follow the blog know by now I enjoy the show Letterkenny. You all also know I can’t truly explain why. The show is just funny to me but has no real plot line in the greater sense of things.
Enter Littlekenny. This animated show takes place a long time before season one of Letterkenny when they are all in school. It tells the story of how our little group became a group in the first place.
The season can be watched in less than an hour, honestly probably less than 30 minutes. Each episode is only a few minutes long and simply tells a small story. It never takes itself seriously and knows what it is and I was ok with that. I never wanted much from it other than some laughs and some quick back story which is what I got. RE3 remake Nemesis reveal trailer
I was really nervous and excited to see how Nemesis would look but I’m glad to say he looks badass as hell in this trailer. I’m glad his design wasn’t really influenced by his look in Resident Evil: Apocalypse . The gameplay looks solid and a bit more combat oriented than the previous game but Nemesis seems to keep his unpredictable streak up through the game. I’m unbelievably psyched for this game and it’s still my most anticipated. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Yes Man (2008)
Yes man is the story of Carl Allen (Jim Carrey) who refuses to do anything, he doesn’t answer his friend’s phone calls and even misses his best friend’s engagement dinner. When an old friend suggested he go to a Yes Seminar, it changes his life forever. He makes a covenant to always say yes.
This leads to some interesting things in his life, for example, he starts approving every loan at work and ends up on a blind date with a woman looking for a husband from overseas. He becomes a much better friend and we learn the reason for his shutting down socially is the divorce he went through a few years prior.
The movie isn’t perfect and it has a bit too much downtime between laughs for my taste but the movie was still fun enough to be worth a watch. Go check it out, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
Turbo: A Power Rangers movie
So the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers The Movie was fun and goofy with pretty much everything about the show we loved. Well the classic series ended, then came Power Rangers Zeo, and a third series was coming in Turbo, because- 90’s. Turbo, which is one of the least popular Power Rangers series is one of the last to deal with the remaining original rangers. So how do these new rangers measure up?
The story begins with veteran rangers, Tommy, Adam, and Rocky training for a charity martial arts competition when Rocky critically injuries himself, leaving the group one ranger down. A new threat emerges in Diva Tox and her pirates who are on the hunt for a inter-dimensional wizard to reunite her with a lava demon so they can take the world over. The rangers find the wizard but he’s taken quickly after a hostage exchange gone bad. With there Zeo powers rendered useless, Zordon bestows upon Tommy, Kat, Tonya, and Adam the new Turbo morphers and Turbo Zords while enlisting young kid Justin to act as Blue Ranger as they race to not only stop Diva Tox and save the wizard but also classic past rangers Jason and Kimberly.
As a kid I might’ve liked this movie but as I got older, this movie sucks. It pretty much feels like a really drawn out episode. Their isn’t hardly any action and you barely see the rangers in costume; the new Zords are pretty much just giant cars that become a bland looking robot. The acting isn’t great but I have to say the little kid Blue Ranger is annoying. For people that crapped on Power Rangers 2017, I have to say at least that movie had more going on than this movie which feels like a long episode and marketing tool that I can’t really recommend. Letterkenny (Season 8)
Here we are again, Letterkenny Season 8. Seriously I can’t quit this damn show. It just does it for me and makes me laugh. From the hockey players and their chirping to Wayne, Dan, and Daryl just drinking beer talking about random stuff, like how you could possibly masturbate in them of December for each date. (Once on the first twice on the 2nd and so on) and yes that is a real example.
That I feel is what makes the show so great, it is simplistic and fun and it deals with things we all deal with while at the same time being so outrageous and out there that it is truly comedic at the same time.
The show honestly is pretty much what it has always been, and if you loved the other seasons you will love this one. So go check it out, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
Hostel Part 2
It seems like yesterday for me when everyone was talking about the first Hostel and the latest Saw sequel. While I was more of a Saw fan, I watched Hostel 2 with low expectations and found myself hugely shocked by how far the movie went; it was pretty much what I was expecting from the first movie. So what made Hostel 2 a better sequel?
Three well off college girls are in Italy and are told of a awesome party scene in Slovakia by a model they’re sketching. Wanting the time of there lives, the go follow the model’s advice and go to the familiar hostel. Meanwhile, two business men come to Europe for the time of there lives, paying a small fortune for the ultimate experience, being able to take a life without consequence. As the girls disappear one by one and they discover how far this torture ring’s grasp reaches, these new torturers may be in for more then they bargain for…
If you loved the first movie, Hostel 2 kicks the gore, torture, and nudity up ten fold from the first one. The killings are surprisingly disturbing, including a ritualistic murder about a half hour in that stayed with me for a while. What I liked is the twists that happen in the final act and how a huge portion of the story follows these fresh torturers as they set up for there first kills and the emotions they go through on the way. If you don’t have a strong stomach, avoid the hell out of this movie but if you like some intense gore and WTF moments, horror fans should absolutely check this movie out. New Mutants trailer 2
I know this movie has had a hell of a lot of problems behind the scenes, but I must admit the second trailer looks pretty decent. I like the horror aspects of the movie so far but I have to admit, I think the superhero parts look kinda shotty and low budget. I appreciate this movie follows mutants most of us aren’t familiar with. I want to see it, mainly as an end of an era before Disney takes over X-men but there’s a chance it’ll blow.
