It’s My Birthday!

I know I have been rather absent lately, this month has been rather insane. Work has taken way more time than expected with the holidays and baby savior has been a needy little child.

That being said from here on out I will try to be more consistent, and more importantly IT’S MY BIRTHDAY! Today is the not so important 35 for me. Today I had some pizza and a few drinks with friends after hanging out with the kids.

Most importantly I want to thank all of you for the support and love in the last year, it has been amazing and I am hoping the next year is even bigger and better. Thank you all and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Promising Young Woman trailer 1

I have to admit, this trailer hooked me automatically and made me say WTF at least a dozen times in such a quick trailer. I like how this movie appears to be a revenge movie but also might be a dark comedy at the same time. I’m pretty engaged to see more from this movie. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife trailer 1

I’m going to be the guy that will tell you I appreciate the Ghostbusters movies, I don’t have the nostalgia this trailer hopes I do. Not to say it doesn’t look promising; I have 1,000% more interest in this sequel than I did the remake a few years ago. I’m curious how the ghosts will come out. I got a The Force Awakens  vibe from this trailer which I thought was pretty cool. In the end, I hope the fans love it and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Wonder Woman 1984 trailer 1

I have to admit, while a far cry in tone from the first Wonder Woman I’m still pretty interested to see where it goes. I know Cheetah plays a role in this movie, and I’m glad they don’t show her. Gal Gadot is still a knockout as Diana and I’m sure she’ll steal the show. I’m curious how it’ll turn out. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Resident Evil 3 remake announcement trailer

The remake I’ve been waiting for is finally announced and a release date is given: Resident Evil 3. The Nemesis is one of my favorite horror icons of all time. The graphics are beautiful and the horror feel is stronger then ever; I love the the emphasis on the dread of Nemesis’s pursuit. The character redesigns are well done and I can’t wait to get a full glimpse of Nemesis. I’m definitely hyped for it and it’s already my most anticipated. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Kong: Skull Island

kong skull island

Besides the MCU, I consider the Monster-verse probably the second best out there. Godzilla King of Monsters (Savior) opened my eyes to why this series has garnered so much love for so long, so I took a bit to catch up on the universe and see how they approached the legendary ape, King Kong.

Monarch is a small organization with a huge problem, they are about to go extinct because frankly, why waste money on paranormal shit, especially in the wake of the Vietnam War. Bill Randa, head of Monarch, desperately has a plan to find the ancient creatures he seeks- the mythical Skull Island. Assembling a crew of scientists, soldiers, a anti-war photographer and a professional merc and tracker they set off to discover a hostile land teeming with giant beasts, the hideous Skull Crawlers, and the king of it all, Kong..

This is probably the most fun, most epic adaptation of King Kong to date. The Monster-verse takes him a new direction, making him angrier, bigger, and smarter than ever before with a new motivation while surprisingly keeping a lot of the character’s pathos. Sam Jackson, John Goodman and John C. Riley steal the show, especially Riley during some sad moments. The action scenes are plentiful and well done, set mostly to well placed 70’s rock. The Island itself isn’t boring, it’s the opposite. The beginning is a bit slow and feels pretty cliche at first but once Kong is introduced, the movie picks up the pace. In the end, it’s a fun monster brawler with some good performances that’s worth checking out. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Mulan trailer 2

I know a lot of people hate that lie many of the live action Disney adaptations, this one is going for a more serious tone of the source material. Honestly, this is the only one that’s come out that I had any interest in seeing because of this. Visually the movie looks great and I never grew up with the old movie so I don’t feel nostalgia’s bite here. I’m hoping it’ll be a great movie. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Super Punch Out

Super Punch Out is another game I love to go back and play occasionally. It is a boxing game where each fight follows a set pattern and each one has its one set of moves. Tho I still don’t get how I can get kicked in the damn face so often in a boxing match.

Anyway the first fight is against a guy that has a record of 1-99. Not sure who he beat, you can basically win this fight randomly smashing buttons.

As the game goes on the fights get more challenging. Some guys you have to stun before you can hit a weak spot or you have to dodge and counter a certain move. The last two guys have a similar record tho one is undefeated and the other has one loss against the other which I always thought was fun.

This is another game that seems like it wouldn’t be fun but to me was the best this series had to offer. Best wishes and may the gaming gods being you glory.
