Go! Go! PogoGirl planned for release on 10th of February

Indie publisher Ratalaika Games, alongside one manned developer Ohsat Games, is happy to announce a cutesy platformer, which has been single handedly created. Go! Go! PogoGirl, planned for release on 10th of February, 2023 to PC Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Microsoft Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch, priced at $4.99 / €4.99.
Isn’t She lovely?PogoGirl is a pogo champion living on Pogo Island. She’s fun-loving, happy and easy-going but one fateful night, her favourite pogo stick is stolen from its case. Distressed, Pogo Girl grabs a spare pogo stick and gives chase, bouncing after the thief throughout the night and day – across the whole island in order to get her treasure back and strive to do the right thing by helping others. So the exciting adventure begins and an impressive challenge unfolds.

Straight to the Point

Go! Go! PogoGirl takes place across the four seasons, with each season comprising four levels plus a boss level.

Four Seasons

The developer commented, ‘The season theme was chosen to imply that the game takes place over a long stretch of time, as PogoGirl is hunting down the thief who stole her favourite pogo stick. The time of day within the seasons will also change, with the first level of a season taking place in the morning and the boss level taking place at night.’

Clever design work is implemented in such a way that players can find good routes for speed-running and things are never that easy. Those who want to take their time exploring will find hidden gems behind fake walls and lots more. Exploration is encouraged as care has been taken so that players can freely explore the levels without fear of getting lost! As the game plays check out some of the familiar backdrops, inspired from classic 90s titles. Once you’ve beaten the last boss, an additional bonus world with 5 more levels is unlocked but there is a long way to go before you get to this stage.

Free Guy (Review)

Free guy is of course a Ryan Reynolds movie, and I am a sucker for his movies. Shawn Levy as a director was great and with co-stars Jodie Comer and Joe Keery this was bound to be a great movie. Add to that a simple yet intriguing concept of what would happen if the NPC’s in the games we love could just go and decide to do whatever they wanted, and you get a recipe for, well something.

Free Guy Sees Molotov Girl (Jodie Comer) attempts to find the code her and Keys (Joe Keery) made and later sold to Antwan (Taika Waititi) and prove he illegally used it to create his game. At the same time, Guy (Ryan Reynolds) a simple Bank teller decides there has to be more to his life than getting robbed and saying his catchphrase “don’t have a good day, have a great day” One day after seeing the in-game avatar of Molotov girl he decides he wants to be the hero and confronts the bank robber, who also happens to be a real-life player of this open world game.

This will set off a chain reaction that leads to self-discovery and love for Guy, who people don’t realize isn’t a player character that has hacked an NPC skin. He is also the person that levels up the fastest in the history of this game, and he does so by being the good guy. In a world filled with crime he attempts to prevent it but stopping bank robberies, wanton murders, and destruction, and the gaming gods know what else.

Added to this the movie is full of great cameos I won’t spoil for you, just keep an eye out for not only people you know, listen to voices. There was at least one I wasn’t sure of until I wrote this and looked it up. The movie is far from perfect, but it’s the perfect amount of fun. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

GoldenEye 007 Xbox Review

GoldenEye is one of those classics from 1997 that most people seem to have fond memories of,and I am no different. I don’t even know how many hours were spent with Friends on my N64 playing with proximity mines on multiplayer and rocket launchers panic shooting each other in the face or taking turns seeing you can beat The Dam the fastest (nobody ever beat my friend Robbie, dude was a beast) and of course because we were teens and unlocked paintball mode we would make a penis on random walls.

When I saw this was coming to GamePass or course I wanted to relive the golden days, unfortunately Robbie lives in Europe now and many of my other friends from back then are dead or I have no clue where they are. I could still however enjoy the single player aspect.

You will hear mixed things about this port, because it is just that. It is a port of the original in all its 30FPS N64 graphics glory with modern controller support, and the only multiplayer in existence is the good old fashioned split-screen. I actually don’t have an issue with this,in fact it is all I wanted. Added in some achievements for unlocking the chests and beating the levels and I am happy. Others however are upset about what is not included, and I understand that to an extent. Online multiplayer would have been nice since I am told they did add that to the Nintendo Switch version.

Compared to many of the shooters out there now and since then this one didn’t hold up very well. As a kid I never noticed how bad the AI was or how bad some of the levels actually were, but it was still fun to play for a bit. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Wantless Game Demo Available on Steam

Twin Sails Interactive announced today that it has partnered with French independent developer Drop Rate Studio to publish its upcoming game Wantless. This turn-based tactical RPG, releasing in early access in fall 2023, will pit players against their patients’ worst nightmares and woes.

On the cusp of Steam Next Fest, a free demo of Wantless is now available for players to try the game. This demo, featuring over a dozen enemies and bosses, will give players a glimpse of the skill-crafting potential in the game, with several thousand available combinations to play around with in the abilities creation menu.

Wantless is a fast-paced tactical RPG mixing extensive skill-crafting and challenging turn-based combat. Donning the coat of Eiris, one of the last Transposers, players will have to face horrors made manifest and walk the fine line of morality in a dying world. Players will warp inside their patients’ tormented minds to deal with their woes while trying to preserve their memories, or suffer the consequences.

Each action undertaken by Eiris will empower every enemy in the room. The more the player acts, the more resources their opponents will have, creating a delicate balance of actions. Players must mindfully use the environment to their advantage to even the odds. From carefully placed explosives to pools of noxious poison, there is no ignoring the terrain in this merciless tactical combat.

To prevail, Eiris will have access to a deep skill-forging system, allowing players to modify their skills’ effect, form, range, and more. Specializing in close-combat combos, raining death from afar, or manipulating the battlefield, players can forge their own playstyle, improving it after each run!

Slay the Spire, a Game I Love To Hate

Let me get this out of the way first, I’ve loved my time with this game. It has been fantastic. Just the ease of getting into it. Start the game, pick one of the characters then away you go. Play them in order to unlock the next, except the last one which you need to unlock the first three and complete a run.

Trailer for your enjoyment

I have come to the conclusion in my 30-plus hours with this game, I will never unlock this last character. I have made it to the final boss with the first three, more than once, Then I just get my ass handed to me. Stacks of 30 poison are laughed off as if they are nothing, walls of staggering levels of blocking that would seem impossible to break fall as if they were nothing. I have read guides, I have watched videos and I still can not seem to get through it.

Now I know what you are thinking, Dark Souls is not for me, and you would be wrong. I have gone through them all and loved them. ( except 2, nobody likes Dark Souls 2. Don’t be a liar and say you do.) Slay the Spire had been its own personal kind of hell for me, and I love it even more because of it. From every card combination that fails or works, this is one roguelike I can’t stop playing for some reason.

This guy can really go fuck himself

Moonshine Inc. gets two major expansions in Februaryand console adaptations are now in the works.

The major gameplay enhancements are planned for February 2nd and February 23rd when Klabater is expecting to release patches with completely new Police Quests and the most anticipated Sandbox Mode.

Police Quests and Sandbox Mode – teaser descriptions

The Police Quests will be a special type of Side Quest which will serve the purpose of reducing the Global Alert Level and Stash Alert Level. They will vary from the Side Quests by their spawn points and spawn conditions and will be given by the Sheriff. An example of one quest could be getting a call from your godmother who is hosting the Sheriff at her place – in your name she negotiated turning his eye blind on you in return for his favorite rare likker.

The Sandbox Mode will give the players freedom of exploration and production. It will remove Main Missions and allow players to modify their gameplay. The technologies, side quests, police quests, and events will not be region locked anymore. In the inventory and the Fast Apparatus Placement windows, players will have the ability to discard unwanted batches and apparatuses. All the maps will be fully accessible to the player at all times. Depending on the base chosen to start with, all deliveries will start from there. All stashes will be open from the get-go.

Additionally, the Sandbox will give options effects. The player will be able to unlock most of the game features: the highest level of the buildings (Headquarters, Garage, Workshop), instant deliveries, all technologies, unlimited money, instant craft, fermentation, and distillation, or speed multiplier for crafting, and finally, deactivation of all Alert Levels and Game Over.

Console version is in the works but has no release date, but they are hoping by the end of 2023.

That 90’s Show Netflix Review

That 90’s show recently released on Netflix and as a huge fan of That 70’s show (and probably one of the 6 people on earth that enjoyed That 80’s Show) I was quite excited to see it. Admittedly I did not have much hope for it. The main cast was basically making cameos, Leia, Erik and Donna’s daughter, was essentially crashing with Red and Kitty and the new group of friends did not seem promising. In fact I watched it just to see Red and Kitty.

In fact I will die on the hill that Red and Kitty Foreman are the best part of That 90’s show, and possibly That 70’s show. This 10 episode run though was far better than I expected. They didn’t try to recapture the magic in a bottle from the original series, in fact if you pay attention it is very clear the original Point Place crew did not remain friends. I won’t go into details, but Kelsos son and Leia meet for the first time as the summer starts.

As the summer starts however and Leia is visiting you can tell there are some issues between Leia and Erik, not too different from Red and Erik despite the fact Erik is actually trying. She meets Gwen, the girl that lives next door where Donna used to live. They hit it off and after a couple days Leia wants to spend the summer, something Kitty is excited for, much to Reds dismay.

I won’t go on from here because I don’t want to spoil anything but we do get to see a new side of Red with this group of kids. A softer side in a way. This isn’t to say he isn’t the hard ass we know and love, but there are moments where you can see Red’s job as father figure is done and he embraces his role as grandfather. The show isn’t perfect, but in a lot of ways it gave me exactly what I wanted. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
