Explore a Flooded World When FAR: Changing Tides Arrives Early 2022

Some of you may remember way back in 2019 when I reviewed Far:Lone Sail on PS4.  Okomotive was nice enough to hook me up with a review copy, and the game was simple in both concept and game play. Simply take your vehicle and travel across the beautiful and ever changing landscape while collecting fuel and upgrades and not destroying it. I never really forgot that experience though and I couldn’t tell you why, and here is the sequel I didn’t know I needed. check out the real trailer and some screen shots below and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus trailer 2

I loved Pokémon as a kid but I’ve fallen out touch of them; I love how the old formula has involved. I love the idea of a huge open world game on the same scope as Breath of the Wild and Elder Scrolls…for the first time in a really long time I actually have real interest in the series and I hope for the best. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Star Renegades Sees Retail Release This Friday on PS4 and Nintendo Switch

Morning everyone, not long ago you guys probably remember me telling you about a game called Star Renegades The rogue-lite strategy RPG. This game is full of great pixel art, procedurally generated dungeons, and a fun story that is all about joining a rebellion, fighting, dying, reviving and doing it all over again in hopes of stopping an evil force from taking over everything in the universe.

Now I know some of you prefer a hard copy of your games instead of digital, and as of August 27th you can pick up the retail version or click on the link about to get one of the limited editions that come with some extra stuff like an art book and such and are also individually numbered. ( Savior Gaming does NOT get paid for you doing so)

Star Renegades is absolutely a game I recommend checking out as I have personally put many hours into it, and now is an ever better time than ever. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

When they Cry

Amazon.com: When They Cry S1 Collection [DVD] [2018] : Movies & TV

Keniichi is a pretty normal teen who moves to the quiet village of Hinamizawa, becoming friends with a small group of bubbly girls Rena, Rika, Mion and Satoko. They forge a fast, close friendship in the quiet town, but every town has secrets and legends- Hinamizawa is no exception. Keniichi attends a local festival paying respecting an ancient god, a god of obedience and blood. Its not long after that the curse of the town kicks off and bodies start mounting and every question Keniichi asks is met with malevolent glares and his friends start acting strange. Secrets can destroy you, Keniichi will soon discover.

I seriously ate this damn show up; not since Another and Corpse Party: Tortured Souls had I been so wound up in a anime. The characters have some pretty messed up backstories that caught me off guard and the overall story has plenty of twists of turns I really wasn’t expecting. The story deals with a series of scenarios gone horribly wrong and how the friends you hold dearest, you don’t know at all. I’m going to say, if bodily torture and child death get under your skin, this anime isn’t for you. This anime would easily be in my top three, but this series has a glaring flaw I both love and hate about it- this series is NOT linear and it’s really confusing if you aren’t open minded and willing to see it through to the end and pay close attention, and even then you might have to watch it a second or third time before it makes perfect sense. In the end, I loved this series, flaw in all, and I highly recommend it for multiple viewings. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Spiderman: No way Home trailer 1

I’m going to be the first to say, this trailer made my month. I love Dr. Strange and I’m glad we get to see a new kind of Spidey Story. I love the callbacks to Electro and Goblin and of course, the classic Ock reveal at the end. This should be one hell of a Christmas present. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Hannibal (book)

Hannibal (Harris novel) - Wikipedia

Seven years have passed since Clarice Starling brought down Buffalo Bill and Hannibal Lector disappeared into the world. Clarice persevered through the ranks of the FBI but one raid gone wrong has plummeted her from grace; over the years Lector has stayed with her, writing her but still unfound. His past victim, the twisted and deformed Mason Verger is out for revenge against Lector at any cost and paths are going to cross, but is the real evil Dr. Lector or his former victim?

Now as I had to say with my reviews of Red Dragon (book) and Silence of the Lambs (book) I’ve never seen the movie but I’ve been told numerous times it wasn’t one of Ridley Scott’s best. I will say the book is a damn good read and a pretty bleak but strangely beautiful end to Clarice Starling’s story. I really liked Lector in this book, who is portrayed as almost an antihero compared to Verger. Verger was my favorite villain of the trilogy; he was pretty much a sick bastard who got worse and came up with a pretty messed up revenge plan. The book is the longest of the three but it flows really well is paced pretty good. I’d say if you really liked the other two books, this is good finale to the story of Hannibal Lector and Clarice Starling. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Secretary

Secretary (2002 film) - Wikipedia

Lee Holloway is a troubled young woman who just got released from a mental institution after a nervous breakdown. After her sisters wedding and remembering how crappy her family is as well as feeling back into empty depression, she begins cutting herself again. It’s suggested she get a part time job to kick off her new beginning; she finds herself applying to be a receptionist for prominent but dysfunctional lawyer Edward Gray. He takes her. Gray is a hard boss to lock down, kind one minute, demeaning the next, Lee finds a fascination with him; then comes the day he spanks her. But instead of anger or humiliation, Lee feels alive. After punishing her again, and again, the two form a unlikely bond as dominate and submissive but what’s the boundary between love and obsession?

So off the bat, I’d say this dark dramedy is a way better representation of a BDSM relationship than anything from 50 Shades. Maggie Gyllenhaal does a fantastic job as Lee and she has really good chemistry with James Spader as Gray; they are both exceptionally flawed people that evolve through the story and had well done character arcs. I will say the movie is a slow burn and the humor is a special brand not for everyone. There are some triggers like mental illness and self harm but the movie doesn’t mock these subjects and I feel were covered tastefully. While I laughed my ass off at parts and the movie is also a good character drama. Honestly, while I’m not much for comedies- I was expecting a raunchy sex romp- I was pleasantly surprised to find a damn well done dramedy I’d highly recommend. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Wonder Woman: Bloodlines

Wonder Woman: Bloodlines (2019) - IMDb

Diana Prince, the Wonder Woman and princess of Themyscira, is everything most women crave to be: Smart, strong, and beautiful. But Diana feels like a failure after being banished by her people for leaving to help save the world of man. Reinventing herself as a hero, Diana tries to make her sacrifice worth it but despite all the lives she’s saved, she has plenty of enemies. When two of her greatest enemies, Dr. Poison and Dr. Cyber encounter Vanessa Katapelis, daughter of one of one of Diana’s dearest friends who always envied the Amazon; after her mother dies and Diana fails to save her, Vanessa falls into the promises of Cyber and Poison for a chance at revenge…enter the Silver Swan. Can Diana save her people and redeem her friend before its too late?

I actually like this movie better than Wonder Woman in a few ways; surely this movie could’ve been a way better sequel than Wonder Woman: 1984 . We actually a get a nice take on the origin story and a look at some of Diana’s regrets and her flaws; Rosario Dawson sells it as Diana as well as a really good voice cast. There are plenty of villain cameos and a surprise last act but honestly Silver Swan makes for a relatable villain that challenges Wonder Woman. The movie does good between being serious and having light heartened moments. In the end, I really enjoy this film as one of the DCAUs better if not in the category of their best films to date and I hope WW 3 takes pointers from this movie. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
