Sega Genesis Mini

Sega is joining in on the nostalgia train, and this September will be releasing a mini Sega Genesis with 40 games and cost $80. There is a partial list over at Polygon, tho my only real concern is there is already a pretty substantial collection on the Xbox, Sony, and Switch. Many of the games in this mini already exist on there, so I am hard pressed to believe they will find 40 games warranting that price tag. It will be interesting to see tho, best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

A Horde Too Many by Digitality Studios Live on Kickstarter — All The PlayStation You’ll Ever Need.

A Horde Too Many is a game we can really sink our teeth in…we are not the horde I promise. The small Indie developer Digitality Studios based in Portugal is working on a side-scrolling Post-Apocalyptic RPG with survival, base building and tower defense gameplay. In the game you will need to craft items from supplies…

Romero Games And Paradox Interactive Team Up

Reported by Variety and announced on Twitter by Brenda Romero, Romero Games (Gunman Taco Truck and Dangerous Dave in the Deserted Pirate’s Hideout) for mobile. Not much has been said, except that more will be announced at E3 this year and it is a strategy game of some sort. Don’t let the name Romero fool you tho, it is a pretty popular last name and there is no relation with the famed director George A Romero so chances are it is not a horror-themed game despite some speculation I have seen in some forums. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Playstation To Allow Returns On Preorders, Provided You Don’t Download It.

As reported by TechRadar Sony will now be allowing returns of preorders with a few rules of course. First, you can’t download it, and yes that includes pre-loading the game. However, this is good until launch if you ordered more than 14 days before launch. There is more to it and the TechRadar link provides more details, but those are the big points you need to know, most notably the don’t download it part. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Wet Hot American Summer (2001)

Did you ever watch a movie that makes you think, what the hell did I just watch? Then you have to stop and realize the movie you just watched or the game you just played was by no means good, well planned or even well done? Then realize for some reason you can’t explain, you greatly enjoy it? That is Wet Hot American Summer. That is also the beauty of the movie. The movie is just dumb, but it is meant to be. The further the movie goes the more ridiculous it gets. There is a Vietnam vet cook that starts out as kind of the crazed cook and by the end he is talking to a can of vegetables, dry humping a can of vegetables. By the way here is who you should imagine doing that.giphy.gif

Yep, that is Chris Meloni dry humping a refrigerator. That is also the level of WTF we are dealing with. Also not even the weirdest part of the movie. It is almost like they wanted to make the most 80’s movie possible. The movie also takes place in one day, the last day of camp. There honestly isn’t even much of a true story, it is just a bunch of people trying to enjoy the last day of camp, mostly trying to get laid. there are about a dozen mini stories going on including one counselor trying to get a kid to take a shower, which he hasn’t done all summer. The movie is just all kinda strange. Tho I do say go give it a watch, it is entertaining. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Mark Hamill Is Chucky

It has been a long burning question in the horror world, who will be the voice of Chucky in the new child’s play. Well, we finally have an answer. He has been the Joker, He has been Luke Skywalker. Master Eraqus in Kingdom Hearts 3. Now, Mark Hamill will be Chucky in the new Child’s Play. Enjoy the video, an may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield Won’t be at E3

As reported by Gamespot Bethesda has already confirmed they will hold a conference at E3 but at Pax East said they will not be showing The Elder Scrolls 6 or Starfield. Todd Howard also said the tech they will be using in Starfield and TES6 will be seen first in Starfield then in TES6, if there was any doubt of the order of release before that should really put an end to it. Either way, we have a long wait and patience will really be a virtue. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Forest Revisited (PS4)

I reviewed The Forest (PS4) when it first came out, but I thought after a few updates I would revisit it and let you guys know how the game is progressing. I won’t go into detail too much about the game itself, as you can just read my original review. Suffice it to say it is a survival horror game.

Some of my original complaints were of frame rate drops or some graphics issues when games were rendering at a distance. I am happy to say recent updates have mostly solved these problems. Obviously, no game is perfect. The caves are still insanely dark even with the brightness maxed out. There seems to be no fix for this. Some light sources help more than others, like the flashlight. But it is just one of those things you will have to deal with.

The more recent update has added some new caves and late game enemies. The stability has also greatly increased which is pretty nice, tho admittedly sometimes while in caves and transitioning between inside and outside there are some pretty big slowdowns. None of this is game breaking or even all that annoying, it does exist tho. The game is still worth a purchase for any fan of the genre. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Witch Files (2018)

The Witch Files is a movie about as you can guess, witches. When a group of five young women, all of which are pretty unhappy meet in detention, Jules shows them her that being a witch has some perks. After using her powers to get them out of detention, Jules has them all meet up at the local park where the town allegedly killed a bunch of witches years ago where they form a new coven.

Throughout the movie, they will find they can do all sorts of things, like levitating a book, convince people they already paid for things when they didn’t and even get one of their moms to quit drinking. They, of course, will discover this has a price, and they all start to suffer some physical ailments, like degrading vision or loss of hearing since as we have learned from so many movies, video games and anime in the past, you can’t get anything for free from magic.

There are also the other cliches, such as one of them betraying the group, someone being old as hell and all that other stuff. Nothing in this movie is new or innovative or even done in a new way. It is all done pretty well tho, the acting is great and the script is pretty good, the special effects are done nicely for what is clearly not a AAA movie. The movie isn’t great, but it is certainly good enough. If you like movies about witches, there is no reason not to check this one out. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Kerbal Enhanced Edition, History and Parts Pack DLC

At long last, a long needed DLC and update for the console version of Kerbal Space Program. The History and Parts Pack is basically the making history pack for the PC minus the mission builder and with the extra Mun launch pad.

The extra parts are pretty nice, and I like the ability to change the color of many of the parts. The cost of $9.99 isn’t too bad either tho admittedly it really is for people that truly love the game. I can’t see people that only kind of enjoy the game feeling the price is worth it for the parts and some color swaps along with some new launch sites that really don’t change the way you play with one exception.

The Mun launch is essentially the games super easy mode in a way. See the Mun has no atmosphere and insanely low gravity. This lets you build the most minimalist rockets to enter orbit and head for wherever you want in the solar system. That isn’t to say it is easy to get to them or land and return, but it is far easier than launching from Kerbin. Not to discourage anyone from using it, how you play the game is on you. Personally, I would get to the Mun then use it as a sort of base kind of like a  Mun base. Anyway, feel free to check it out and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
