After Burner Climax (Mobile)

As we all know I try to check out the Sega Forever games when I get the chance to see how the function. The general idea is you fly a jet and blow up other jets, pretty simple. The sound is pretty much what you would expect from a Sega Genesis game and so are the graphics, but that isn’t why you are here.

Does the game function. The answer is yes, the controls are simple. Your left thumb will control the plane in all directions using the touch screen and your right thumb will control your missiles and guns as well as a slider that can make you go faster or slower. There isn’t really much to the game, but it is good to kill some time with tho, so if you just want a simple game to screw with on the bus this one is worth checking out. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Mass Effect 2

mass effect 2

There are very few times in life when lightning strikes twice, especially during story telling. Mass Effect was an epic space adventure with fascinating lore, great characters and cool side stories woven throughout. The first game ended with Shepherd preparing to set off to fight the Reapers, and here the saga continues.

Right after the events of the first game, the Normandy finds itself under attack by a new threat: the Collectors, a race of creatures feared and forgotten with time. There weaponry is far more advanced and there attack swift, the Normandy is destroyed and Shepherd is dead…but not for long. Years later Shepherd is recreated and brought back through scientific means by the Illusive Man, the head of the human elitist group known as Cerberus. Cerberus is widely known as the terrorists and villains but the Illusive Man can’t deny the threat the Collectors and the Reapers possess. Shepherd must reunite with  old allies and search out new scientists, convicts, soldiers to face the Collectors while under the flag of Cerberus…

While I admit I wasn’t a fan of the death and resurrection of Shepherd, the game is superior to the first in almost every way. Martin Sheen is fantastic as the Illusive Man and steals the show for me. Game play is drastically improved with more options and a great variety of allies to help you make some awesome combinations. The Collectors are a creepy enemy with a cool origin. The new characters are awesome while the old characters grow in some fascinating ways. Mass Effect 2 is an outstanding sequel I can’t recommend enough. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Stick Fight The Game

So I am sitting at home and I get a text from my friend Gaming with Noobs shoots me a text and says hey have you heard of this game. So he tells me about it and when I sign into Steam he has sent me a copy. So I send him thanks and check this out and all I can say is, what the hell did I play.

The game is exactly what the name says. You will control a stick figure and control other people that are also stick figures. The game is also physics based, with the objective being mainly to throw people off the side but you can also hit them with boxes, or shoot them with snakes that somehow come from guns or a rocket launcher type device.

The game is simplistic, requiring very few buttons to play. It is also hard to master and is a throwback to when games had one simple goal. To be fun, and that is what this game is, fun. The game has a 9/10 on Steam and with very good reason. It is cheap, easy to learn and is just a good time for all. Definitely check this one out. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

HBO Watchmen teaser

When I heard HBO was rebooting the Watchmen, one of the most important graphic novel stories ever, I was pretty intrigued. While I had no issue with the movie and actually thought it improved some things, I was curious what could be done. The first teaser looks interesting and the dark tone is there. I’m curious if this is meant to be before or after the events of Watchmen, considering the cult of people wearing Rorschach’s mask, I’m leaning towards after. I am curious what they’ll come up with. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Anthony Jeselnik: Fire in the Maternity Ward

For anyone that doesn’t know Anthony Jeselnik:Thoughts and Prayers just a quick heads up, he has a pretty out there and offensive sense of humor, and this latest stand-up is no exception. He covers topics ranging from murder-suicide being the best kind of suicide because as long as you kill your wife or husband it is a victimless crime (his words not mine) to a being a great friend and taking someone for an abortion. Any fan of his, however, would expect nothing less and if you fall into that category you won’t be disappointed. His style of comedy is still as good as it ever was, and it may even be better than his first Netflix Special. This one is worth checking out, best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The 13th Friday (2017)

I have never put something like this, but today I will. If your name is Justin Price, the man who wrote and directed this, stop reading now. You will not appreciate this review. I am sure you are a nice guy who loves films, and I don’t doubt you know your craft well, and I will happily watch your next movie. You do however owe the actors and audience of this movie an apology.

To the actors within the movie, you did the best you could with what you were handed, and I am sorry you were treated this way. I hope you were well compensated tho, and not just with experience. I am not the only one that feels this way either, Film Threat was also not very kind to this movie, and nobody should be. The plot pretty much makes a mockery of every part of horror movies and is so convoluted and ridiculous as to serve no real narrative purpose. It was so busy seeing if something could be done it was never asked if it was even worth doing. It then had an ending that existed for the same of having an ending, not because it was an ending anyone wants or more importantly needed. It is almost like having a twist ending for the sake of having a twist ending, but there was no twist. The movie just ends, almost randomly and tossed together real quick before the budget runs out.

All I can say is, do not watch this movie. It isn’t even a fun train wreck, it is simply an example of how to not make a movie. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

More Thoughts on Imperator Rome

So I have decided to do this less as a review and more as a series of post on my thoughts as I play. You can find my first one Imperator Rome First Impressions.

I have bounced around a bit, played a few countries, got killed, started over and finally settled as playing Carthage because I wanted to create New Carthage and destroy Rome. It is probably a pretty standard goal I admit, next I will use Boi to take over a bunch of stuff cuz reasons.

Anyway, I am still having a ton of fun with the game but there are a few things bothering me that others have also brought up. This is mainly the games mana system. You get certain powers such as religion and military and others which let you perform certain actions, and I spend a lot of my time simply waiting for these things to build up. This is by no means a deal breaker, and I get they needed a way to balance things, but maybe they could boost it a bit so I spend less time sitting around waiting.

Aside from that, I really enjoy spending time planning wars, who I want to attack and when, forging new alliances and deciding what I need to trade the most. Changing history is always a good time for me and I can see myself playing this long into the future even tho I know paradox will probably screw us with DLC. A lot of other people have complained that many of the aspects of the game just don’t go deep enough, for example, you can interact with characters like Crusader Kingdoms 2, but not as in depth and by combining so many aspects of games but to a lesser degree you take away from the total experience. For me tho I simply don’t see it. While I can agree where they are coming from the enjoyment is still there and none of it seems overly watered down.

The game is still having bugs fixed tho, and it seems like this will be a bigger process than many expected so it seems like there will be more of these updates. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Spider-Man Far From Home Trailer (Endgame Spoilers Inside)

As I have stated in the title, and you will be warned in the trailer itself, there are extensive spoilers for Endgame in this trailer. If you haven’t seen it, don’t watch it. The trailer, however, is good, and I am looking forward to this new phase in movies. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Endgame Now 2nd Highest Grossing Movie of All Time

Now if you want all the exact numbers and nitty-gritty, Deadline has a great article. But the short version of it is after this weekend (and an even smaller gap by the time you read this) Avengers: Endgame passed Titanic and became the 2nd highest grossing movie of all time in both America and the world behind Avatar as it passed the 2 billion mark Sunday, and only about 600M separating Endgame and Avatar.

There is always the small chance Endgame doesn’t make it, but with plenty of time left in theaters, it is hard to imagine any scenario where Endgame doesn’t take the top spot, the real question for many is will it be the first movie to top 3 billion worldwide? Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
