God of War 2

gow 2

I admit I didn’t play God of War first but started with the second game first. Among the kids in school, God of War was a favorite and I admit I didn’t get the hype at first. 10 minutes into playing the second game I understood..

Kratos, now the god of war, finds his city under attack by the colossus and his powers mysteriously drained. Zeus grants him the Blade of Olympus, the weapon Zeus used to cease the war against the titans; but to access it’s full power, Kratos needs to drain his godly power into the blade. seeing no other choice. Kratos does, slays the colossus but is laid crippled until Zeus appears, revealing the colossus was his doing and it was his plan to  kill Kratos because of his constant defiance of Olympus. Kratos is sent to hell where the titan Gaia makes contact with him, telling him of the Sisters of Fate, who can help him rewrite history itself, along the way Kratos will find the depths of Zeus’s cruelty and the secrets of the god king…

God of war 2 cranks up the epic level in almost every way but I admit there are some flaws. While I enjoy the sequel’s story more as well  better graphics and more epic set pieces, the final twist at the end kind of bummed me out. The new weapons are sweet but not  as cool as the set in the first game and I felt a little bit too overpowered at times. I still have to say, the game is fun as hell and looks amazing and definitely a great sequel I recommend. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Elite Dangerous Distant Worlds 2 Decision

The other day I asked you guys about Elite Dangerous, Distant Worlds 2. Should Savior Make The Trip? and talked to people on Twitter and Facebook as well. Well, the decision has been made that I shall make the trip to Beagle Point. Starting January 13th I will dive into the Elite Dangerous community as a member of the Distant Worlds community as both an Explorer and member of their Media wing of the expedition. The plan is to spend time exploring on my way to each checkpoint while meeting new people and hopefully getting their take on the entire experience as well as passing on my own experience.

As I experienced on my trips to both Sagittarius A and Colonia the sheer amount of time and jumps it takes to get places in itself can cause many to fail whether they simply turn around or self destruct their own ship to get home when they can’t take it anymore. So wish me luck as I try to make one of the longest trips people can make in the game, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Fromsoftware Working on Two Unannounced Games

It was recently announced by Dark Souls director, Hidetaka Miyazaki, that Fromsoftware is, in fact, working on not one but two totally unannounced games, both of which are the type of game people expect from them. He also took the time to say the Bloodborne Easter eggs in Deracine were simply that, Easter eggs and have no hidden meaning.

This had lead to much speculation, are we getting Bloodborne 2 and one person I saw even suggested this means we are getting both Bloodborne 2 and Dark Soul 4. I don’t think we will be getting both, but I will say I honestly believe one of the two games is either Dark Souls 4 or Bloodborne 2. I Don’t think it is both, but both games would sell an insane amount of copies and with Bloodborne coming out in 2015 and Dark Souls 3 coming out in 2016 now would be as good a time as any for the return of those series. And since Bloodborne was 2015 and we did just get a Dark Souls Remaster, I would bet on Bloodborne. Either way, it will be interesting. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Smallville Season 5

Smallville Season 5 you bastard. This season was rough, and not in it was a bad season way. This season brought the end of a relationship we waited years for, the end of a friendship and the death of a father. It also brought possibly the most dangerous reveal of Clark’s powers yet.

Of all the seasons so far this one probably had the most going on and also was the most rollercoaster-like of them all. We start out at the fortress of solitude with Clark finding out he needs to stay there and prepare for what is to come. He, of course, does not listen and after a meteor shower hits Smallville it again brings people from Krypton but this time they are not so friendly.

This is oddly the least of Clarks worries as this is the season we first hear about a man any Superman fan knows very well, Zod. This new threat honestly does not last long but it does bring a new one that is far more dangerous than anything he has come up against in the past.

We will also come up against what happens when Clark finally tells Lana his secret and the results it brings. This is both interesting and sad at the same time. I won’t spoil everything for you, but to be honest this is an amazing season that fans need to see. So best wishes, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Hellraiser Judgement (2018)

Hellraiser Judgment is an odd movie. As the tenth movie in the series, a series that admittedly seems to have steadily gotten worse as the years have gone by I really was not expecting all that much from it. Some cheap kills, a bit of gore, maybe some nudity and of course a half-baked story about Pinhead loving pain again.

The movie did deliver all of those things, and I have to say it was much better than I expected. That isn’t to say the movie is all that good, it has 50% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.3 on IMBd. It just so happens to be that I wasn’t expecting much. The story was simply two cops chasing a serial killer, and it plays out much how you would expect. This is where the crossover with Pinhead comes in. He and his friends are once again doing their job of judging and punishing people which of course plays into the story.

Obviously, this is an oversimplification but I don’t want to spoil things for you guys. The downside to all this is, well the story is pretty bland and everything about it is easy to see coming. Even the ending isn’t all that special or hard to predict. I enjoyed it and it was pretty entertaining, but it was as basic as basic gets. Fans of the series will enjoy it to an extent, but most people will want to avoid it. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Child’s Play 3

childs play 3

One thing I have to say I love about horror sequels, many come to a strange point where they make you ask WTF? Maybe it’s Jason X or Leprechaun in the Hood or I don’t know, Chucky the killer doll at a military school- that kind of WTF?

So 8 years after Chucky was destroyed, the Good Guy plant reopens and while disposing of Chucky’s corpse, some blood gets into the molten plastic and I guess we get a new Chucky who kills the company CEO and goes back to tracking Andy down again. Andy is 16 now and enrolled in Kent Military Academy after years of failed foster homes. Chucky mails himself to the school only to be found by a junior cadet named Tyler who swears Chucky is his friend. It’s up to Andy to stop Chucky once and for all…

Child’s Play 3 isn’t bad but its just not that memorable. There’s not any real gory moments and Chucky is mostly funny in this. The dude that plays Andy is pretty decent and I like that his story is basically him trying to stop the past from repeating itself. The supporting characters are kinda bland and I have to say Chucky looks kind of like Trump in this movie which is weird. Child’s Play 3 is meh, you can take it or leave it and be ok either way. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Child’s Play 2

childs play 2

Well, I hope everyone out there had a good first day of 2019. So to start the year let’s talk about a lovable, foul mouthed killer doll. Namely Chucky, before we get the remake. I covered Bride of Chucky as well the original for this past year’s Halloween special ( Our Favorite Movies Day 12:Child’s Play )

Child’s Play 2 picks up directly where the original leaves off. Andy Barkley finds himself in the system after being  separated from his mom and his story covered up. The Good Guy toy company seized Chucky’s charred corpse and remakes him ( for reasons?) and that’s enough to revive the murderous doll, who follows Andy to his new foster home, making the kid’s life a living hell and dropping bodies a long the way in his quest to put his soul in Andy’s body…

In a time where the titans of horror Michael, Jason, and Freddy were all getting stale fast, Child’s Play 2 is a pretty good sequel. Andy is still a really sympathetic victim and you do feel for this poor kid; his foster sister Kyle was a good addition and her and Andy’s relationship feels genuine. Chucky is still funny and still badass. The kills are kinda tame until the last act when they fight back against Chucky, then there are some pretty awesome moments and how he finally dies is pretty damn sweet. All in all while not as good as the first, it’s a pretty good simple slasher  movie I’d say is worth checking out. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Gaming Goals For 2019

Ok so admittedly I did party a little to hardy last night. That being said, goal one is already done, which was to enjoy life a bit more. Tho admittedly, regret it a bit this morning. That is neither here nor there tho. This is about gaming in 2019 and what do I want to accomplish. Well for starters,

download (1).jpg

Kingdom Hearts 3. Been waiting awhile for this game, and definitely will be beating it as soon as I possibly can. After that, I plan on moving on to,

Dark Souls 2 Scholars of the First Sin As many of you know this is kind of my cross to bear. None of my friends have managed to beat this game yet and neither have I. Honestly it isn’t due to a lack of skill, we have all beat Bloodborne or Dark Souls 3. One of my friends even has the Platinum trophy for the original Dark Souls and the remaster. But this damn game pisses us off to no end with the sheer number of bosses and sheer ridiculousness of the layout with so many hidden bosses and some being essentially the same boss with the same fighting style. This year I plan on finishing it.

Phantasy Star 2 mobile review This is another game I have said I would finish for years, and never have. I plan on doing it in 2019, but to be honest this is the least likely to happen on the list.

Last but not least, this year I plan on starting a Savior Gaming podcast. I have been working towards getting everything set up and need to do some more test and practice editing but it is getting there.

So how about you guys, what are your gaming goals for 2019? Let me know, best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
