Supernatural Season 11

And here we are, season 11 of Supernatural. We are catching up fast guys, I may need a new show soon. This is the season where we get to see the showdown between Amara and Chuck. This can also be known a the Brother/Sister showdown between God and his sister.

The season is on and off in terms of excitement. In terms of lore and back story however there is a lot to unpack and its a great time to do it. This season also bounces back and forth between hunting regular monsters and the main story dealing with Amara herself.

You won’t run into the big G himself until about episode 20, from there things move pretty quick. I won’t spoil any of those things for you but that is where season 11 goes from on and off to simply amazing. At one point the end seems a bit meh only to discover it isn’t even the end which honestly I liked. This season tho definitely was an interesting one in terms of story. Unfortunately for many the joke that Jordan is better than Lebron because Lebron never helped the Looney Tunes save the world is about to end. The long since rumored Space James 2 is no longer a rumor, but is a fact. According to Hollywood Reporter James and Ryan Coogler (director of Black Panther) will be setting out to make the world a better place, through basketball. Personally I am hoping for a Jordan cameo of some sort. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

The Death of Dead Rising 5

It was recently reported by Screen Rant that the Vancouver Capcom studio will be closing, and part of that closing will be taking Dead Rising 5 with it. The last iteration was met with mixed reviews and five seemed to have been meant to largely ignore its story. Sadly we now may never know, unless of course this zombie game somehow rises from the dead. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Supernatural Season 10

And here we are at season 10 of Supernatural. Its been a long road so far with a few more seasons to go. This season starts in the aftermath of Deans death and his becoming a demon. Admittedly demon dean is pretty great. The season revolves a lot around curing him and finally getting rid of the Mark of Cain and figuring out the Book of the Damned. This season has some great surprises, and some very sad points.

This season also sets up season 11 amazingly. It is actually one of the strongest endings to a season in a while and I am happy I am basically binge watching these because having to wait for season 11 would have been horrible. While season 10 isn’t perfect it does pack a lot of great lore and back story into it and is quite interesting. Personally I had always wondered how a show like this stayed on for so long, but having seen all 10 seasons and started season 11 I understand now. Supernatural Season 9

Season 9 of Supernatural follows Sam and Dean as they attempt to deal with Metatron and the fall of the angels from Heaven and the continued search for a way to defeat Abbadon. We will find out some lore about histories favorite first murderer, Cain and why he killed Abel. The season is actually very interesting, and meeting Cain proves to be a minor yet very great part of the season. I won’t spoil why for those that haven’t seen it yet but it is worth the wait.

The end of the season also plays out much as you would expect, setting up season 10. As always I won’t be explaining much on that either since that would also spoil quite a bit of things for you. The season focuses very heavily on a war between angels and the struggle Cass has with everything that happened which honestly at times gets a bit annoying. I love Cass but I’d like to see him be a bit less whiny in the future. Best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Bert Kreischer: Secret Time

Many of you may know Bert as the guy on Facebook and YouTube that told the story about having accidentally joined the Russian Mob. This time however, he is getting drunk and telling secrets. He covers various tops from how as a parent he now knows how you can end up dropping your kids off at school while you are drunk to how he ends up giving his wife multiple pairs of pajamas for Christmas.

Honestly this is one of the funniest stand-ups I have seen in a very long time and you would do well to watch this. From start to finish Bert had me laughing, and that is rare these days from a comedian. I whole heartedly recommend this one, and may the gaming gods bring you glory.

Anna and the Apocalypse trailer

A little known fact about me is I have a weird taste for musicals; I love WTF musicals however, not really the traditional kind. Anyone who saw Repo the Genetic Opera will get what I mean. Anyway, so a zombie Christmas musical and already I’m invested.I’ll be happy if it makes me ask WTF and gives me a new song to sing in my travels. Red Dead Redemption

Red Dead Redemption is one of those rare games that truly deserves to be called a masterpiece. Whether you want a game where you can inflict your own sadistic whims out on others and just enjoy yourself, you surely can; if you want a clever satire that’s thought provoking and deeply character driven in ways so few games are anymore, it’s that too.

Red Dead Redemption is a former outlaw on a mission: hunt down his old gang and kill them. Not for revenge though, but because a shady government man tells John Marsten that they have his wife and son. Through this huge journey through the old west, we understand who Marsten was and the kind simple man he wants to be who just wants to be left alone to raise his family. But can any of us ever escape the past?

There is so much to say about this game. The huge, twisting, sprawling story was my favorite part. The characters felt so human and authentic it was impossible not to be invested in them. The gameplay runs damn good. Shooting is simple to pick up but challenging to truly master, especially on horseback, but you’ll feel badass once you do. I like the blend of western drama, dark comedy, and fiction throughout; there’s a truly sad side mission with Sasquatch that almost made me tear up. The game has so many unique side quests and mini games that are engaging and fun it’s so easy to keep entertained. The graphics were amazing for the time and hold up damn good to this day. In the end, I couldn’t recommend this game more and needs to be tried. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Graveyard Keeper

Graveyard Keeper is an odd game. The game starts off with you at a store, in the modern day. On the way home BOOM. Dude is hit by a car. After talking to what I assume is death you are tasked with digging up a friend to help guide you on your task. What task is that do you ask? Well as the name implies running a graveyard, which you will do very little of the time. Seriously I spent the opening hours of the game talking to people, chopping down trees, killing some slimes for the local smith. All sorts of things, and yes some of that was to fix up the graveyard. Mostly tho, it was not.

The game is fun and demented in its own way. For example do you do things the right way to sell meat, or do you get a fake seal and just hack parts off dead bodies the donkey brings you and sell that to people? Yes you can sell people human mean from corpses. Eventually you can also open up the church and get some money and such that way.

The game also has some bugs to it, some are quite major reportedly and that seems mostly on the Xbox version but the PC version as well and yes that does include some that will require you to restart your game. I haven’t had any issues but they are reported pretty reliable from many places. The game is a lot of fun, but it isn’t the most polished game out there and it can be pretty grindy at times. I don’t regret buying it and I have no issue recommending it to people that enjoy the style of game, but it is a very niche game and is not for most people. One Last Shot (1998)

One shot is a short film by Mike Clattenberg which most of you know from Trailer Park boys. It featured the characters Rickey, Julian and Mr. Lahey and told the story of Rickey and Julians last day together before Rickey moved to Vancouver.

At first I thought the movie wasn’t very good but I realized it wasn’t really fair to judge a 20-year-old short film shot by friends and 3 guys to harshly. Sure Clerks is basically a cult classic but that is equal parts genius and fluke to be honest.

One last shot was actually fairly well put together, the scenes make sense and for a black and white film the lighting is actually well done. At no point did I feel like the dark parts were overly dark or the light taking away from anything and the acting while a bit bland at times didn’t exactly feel stiff. It just felt like what it was, people who loved movies that wanted to make one and get some experience and honestly that showed. I have seen much higher production value movies feel less heartfelt and honest than this did. Its only 30 minutes and it very much worth checking out if you are a fan of his or the Trailer Park Boys (which I am not) best wishes and may the gaming gods bring you glory.
