My hype for Silent Hill’s latest entry is officially through the roof after watching the latest gameplay demo. I adore the imagery. The scarecrows are a creepy ass enemy design. I love the environment. The combat looks fair- you aren’t a soldier or superhero, but at least you can reasonably defend yourself (it’s all I ask in my horror games). I’m already saving money to hopefully get it near release. May the gaming gods bring you glory.

Predator: Badlands trailer 2
Wow…this movie is starting to look pretty badass. I love the direction I see it going in. I think Badlands looks like a cool way to expand the Predator mythos. The monsters and fauna look cool and I can’t wait to see a young, fledgling Predator face off against them. I like Elle Fanning so far and how it looks like a weird buddy journey with her and the Predator. In the end I’m super hyped. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Zombie (aka Zombi 2 aka Zombie Flesh Eaters)
Ann’s father has disappeared while on vacation. Along with Peter, a journalist, and two vacationers, they bum a ride from, they set off to a tropical island to find them. This island has been ravaged by death. A plague or something more supernatural, maybe both. The dead have begun to walk, and they are hungry.
Zombie (or whichever title you prefer) is one of Lucio Fulci’s most well-known works. The Beyond is my favorite, but Zombie was my first. I’ve heard it said the movie is a knockoff of Romero’s Dawn of the Dead , but I disagree. Zombie doesn’t hold a candle to Dawn’s memorable characters, good acting, or the sheer scope of the film. What Zombie does have is nightmarish zombie effects and top-notch gore. The zombies are well-detailed and absolutely gross to look at. I do really like the movie’s theme. The story and characters are meh; the dubbing isn’t as good as I’d like it to be. The slow pace kills the movie. When things happen, the movie is great, but a lot of it feels like the main characters wandering around. My favorite moment will always be the zombie fighting the shark at the bottom of the ocean. In the end, there’s definitely better Fulci films and zombie films all around, but this is a solid horror with great effects, blood, and some absurdity that’s worth checking out. The Beyond
What do a rundown hotel, a blind woman, a bleak old painting, and a brainwave machine have in common? Eliza is in the midst of renovating the old, dilapidated 7 Gates Hotel in Louisiana when strange things begin to happen. Dangerous, deadly accidents and the appearance of a mysterious blind woman named Emily, who is seeking Eliza. Her message is clear: leave the hotel. Desperate, Eliza refuses only to discover the true horror of the hotel- it was built on one of the seven gates to Hell itself.
A long time ago I talked about House by the Cemetary , the third part of Fulci’s Gates of Hell trilogy. The Beyond is the middle entry, the most renowned of the trilogy, and for damn good reason. The Beyond is just short of a horror masterpiece. The cinematography is both breathtaking and uncanny, which makes you feel unsettled throughout. The music is haunting and even operatic, compounding the surrealness of the whole movie. The gore is absolutely disgusting without ever feeling comedically overboard. The english dub is pretty good, but I do give the actors a lot of credit; their expressions add to the terror. While I deeply love the movie, their’s some flaws that make you scratch you’re head and don’t make sense. Eliza knows someone, somehow you never see her interact with; the one dude might be possessed or something and randomly vanishes at the end; clearly fake spiders on string at one point. The movie isn’t perfect but it is pretty ambiguous with some reality-bending. The ending is bleak as hell and a perfect fit. The Beyond ain’t for everyone- the gore alone will deter a lot of people- but I seriously recommend this Italian horror classic. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Fantastic 4: First Steps
The 1960’s have been defined by 4 heroes who have fought villains, shaped the world, and made it a better place not only for themselves and the people around them, but the newest bundle of joy joining their family. They are no strangers to danger…until a new threat emerges from the stars, announcing the imminent death of the planet- the coming of Galactus. When faced with an impossible threat, an impossible choice, can the Fantastic 4 pull off the impossible?
I’ve been through the ringer of Fantastic 4 (1994) , Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer , and the abomination known as Fant4stic so I was scared. I’m proud to say we actually got not only a great Fantastic 4 movie, but one of the best Marvel movies in years. There was a ton of love given to the comics as well as the visual aesthetic. The movie harkens back to classic 50’s/60’s sci fi and golden age comic books. I loved the actors all around. The 4 have great chemistry and true to the characters. The Silver Surfer was awesome. The true standout was Galactus which, my god, was absolutely terrifying. The movie is well-balanced between drama, comedy, sci-fi action; I’m so happy it stands on its own and doesn’t rely on the greater MCU for its characters and story. Unfortunately, I wasn’t a fan of the MCU end credit scene, most of us knew it was coming. In the end, I was greatly surprised and I highly recommend the MCU debut of Marvel’s First Family. May the Galactus bring you…glory? Yanno.
Mortal Kombat 2 trailer
Ok, no joke I lost when this trailer finally dropped. I enjoyed the first movie but it wasn’t perfect. Everything I see for the sequel looks like a MK fan’s wet dream. Karl Urban seems like a perfect fit for Johnny Cage. Shao Khan looks intimidating as hell. Of course the highlight is the showdown between Scorpion and Noob Saibot in hell. I’m insanely pumped for this movie and have seen the trailer a bunch of times. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Superman (2025)
Superman- we all know the man and his origin. We know what he stands for. We know that he is a symbol of hope in a troubled, complicated world. What if we didn’t, though? Superman can thwart kaijus, hang with the Justice Gang, and put a stop to political bloodshed, and we love him for it…until a secret raises a question: can humanity trust our lives to an unstoppable alien?
Superman is the first movie in James Gunn’s revamped DCU, and like many, I was really curious how it’d go. First, Gunn did a much better job of establishing a DC universe in this one film than the old DCEU did- no contest. Nothing feels overly forced. I don’t feel like this movie exists as an advert for other projects to come. Gunn clearly respects the material and it shows. The cast is great all around but Corenswet and Hoult are the highlights as Superman and Luthor. Corenswet brings a humble, gentle quality we haven’t seen to Supes since Christopher Reeves, while making him feel more human than I think we ever have. Hoult as Lex Luthor is a straight-up, ruthless, grimy, petulant bastard and perfectly captures Superman’s nemesis.
The movie, while excelling at a lot, does fumble hard in places. It does do too much. There are characters that feel shoved in. There’s jokes that either don’t land or break decently built dramatic scenes. Ultraman’s identity pissed me off a bit. The politics- they are a lot of real world politics in this movie- feel real heavy handed at times, bordering on preachy. There’s a bit with social media too I thought was eye rolling too if I’ll be honest. The effects range from great to questionable.
Overall, Superman was a good, solid foundation I want to see more of. Because of how much politics plays a role in the film, I can’t really recommend it as a clear yes or no. I will say this: I wanted a Superman movie that felt like a Superman movie. I got it. In many ways this movie is the polar opposite of Man of Steel and a refreshing palate cleanser to the host of evil Superman archetypes that have sprung up over the last few years. I enjoyed the movie and I think it deserves a chance. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Resident Evil 9 overview
So if you wanted a lil extra to go with the pretty awesome reveal we got, here we get a bit of a dive into it with the people actually making it. While we don’t get anything super new or groundbreaking, it’s still cool having the devs set the stage and talk about why Leon isn’t the MC as well as give us an idea of what we can look forward to. I love that you can switch between 1st and 3rd person at will. I’m ultra pumped still. May the gaming gods bring you glory.
Gore Doctor PS5 Review
Gore Doctor on PS5 is another game sent to me by Ultimate Games and is proof that every company is going to make a game that just isn’t good. If you don’t feel like reading the entire review I am about to write, that’s fine, I didn’t want to keep playing this game. Long story short, the only people who should play this game are people being punished for crimes against animals and children.
The story starts great, you are kidnapped by a crazy doctor trying to rescue his wife, whom he is desperate to save. As she dies, he becomes more and more insane, and you have to survive and escape.
The story sounds great, and it is too bad that every decision made from there when making the game, destroys the experience. The lighting is horrible, to the point that even with a flashlight, you can’t see much of anything. I don’t mean this in the it is scary way, I mean this in the game is damn near unplayable way. I had other people play the game on different TVs in hopes, maybe I was just being overly sensitive, and even messing with our settings didn’t help.
You might be asking about in-game settings, well, there aren’t any. If this weren’t bad enough, the controls are pretty much as good as the lighting of the game. They are largely unresponsive and slow. The combat makes this painfully obvious.
There are some cool aspects to it; however, the gore in Gore Doctor is no lie, and it is pretty cool. Seeing a guy killed with a giant buzzsaw was great. The story is as good as any slasher film I have ever seen. The game is short as well, which normally isn’t a good thing, but in this case, you will be grateful.
As for a score? I hate to do this to a company whose games I normally enjoy, but I truly can not give this game more than a 4/10. It functions at a basic level, and there is some enjoyment to be had for some people. I just don’t know those people. Avoid this game like the main character should avoid doctors. Dead Relives release date trailer
It’s fairly rare when I see a trailer for a horror game that makes me wonder what the hell is actually going on. This is a pretty good example of one. The visuals are interesting and definitely eye-catching. The trailer keeps its story close to the chest, making me pretty intrigued about what’s actually going on. I’ll be keeping an eye out for it in the future. May the gaming god’s bring you glory.
